The first week of the Vienna, Prague & Germany with André Rieu tour has been filled with incredible architecture, tastes and smells of Europe and of course MUSIC! 🥰🎉🎼

From the Vienna State Opera House, to performances of Strauss with full orchestra, delicious high-tea and performances from our own incredible artists Cameron Barclay, Alex Foster and Russell Dixon.

We look forward to seeing what other adventures the group embark on as they continue. ❤️

Had the pleasure of sharing the past couple of days with the wonderfully talented team on the Hoedown Showdown concert tour. They are off to Palmerston North tomorrow.

Operatunity would like to present one of our 3 Tenors performing in our next concert tour 3 Tenors Tribute to Mario Lanza, Benjamin Makisi!

Come along to our next concert touring New Zealand 4 July 2024 - 5 August 2024 to see Benjamin Makisi live!

A little about Ben - His magnificent voice has won him standing ovations around the world. His career began encouraged by his parents, singing in his local church choir.Early on he was able to win many scholarships including the The Lions Rotary Music Scholarship and the NZ Herald Aria Competition.

He went on to win many prestigious awards including Lockwood Aria Competition in Rotorua and he is a proud recipient of the “Willi Fels” Memorial Award five times. This bolstered his performance confidence enabling him to further his studies.

International travel saw him win The McDonald Aria Competition held in the Sydney Opera House in 1992 and Semi-Finalist at the Francesco Viñas Concourso Internationale in Barcelona, Spain in 2004. Ben completed his Masters Degree in Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2004 and a Bachelor of Music in Performance at Victoria University of Wellington, NZ in 1992.

Our second Melbourne shows group has had a great start to their trip! They began with a city tour of Melbourne followed by a delicious High Tea. That night they were treated to an Irish themed welcome dinner with music performed by Sue, John, Alex & Paul (With a special guest appearance by Russ and Amanda from our other Melbourne Shows group!) ☘️ Today, they visited Mt Dandenong and experienced the spectacular views and then went for a ride on the Puffing Billy Railway train! 🚂

Our group on the Journey to Japan tour are having a wonderful time experiencing the sites and sounds of Osaka and Hiroshima. They paid visits to ancient temples filled with history and Japanese gardens - beautiful grand castles and much more!

Now on the bullet train to Kyoto how exciting.

We look forward to seeing more of the trip as it pans out!

Our group currently on the Melbourne Shows tour have been enjoying their first days together.

They had a fabulous day yesterday on their first day in Melbourne with Irish dinner and show plus Irish coffees. Yummy 😋

Now on a river cruise, then it's off to their show 'Sunset Boulevard' tonight.

Hurrah. Great group and great start!!

The Magical Musicals cast are wrapping up their North Island tour in New Plymouth today – we continue to get great feedback about the show! 🎉 Let’s hope the weather warms up for their South Island tour next week - however if it doesn’t our cast are sure to warm the souls with their performances 🥰. Last week our group on the 'Wine, Whales & Song' Tour had a wonderful few days travelling around the beautiful South Island.

They had a tasty visit to the Pic's Peanut Butter Factory and a delicious lunch at the historic Melrose House. With fabulous hosts Karl Perigo and Marian Burns this was sure to be fantastic time! 🎉😀

The adventure for our "Discover Great Barrier Island" group continues!

On Thursday they enjoyed a day on Waiheke Island where they visited The Waiheke Musical Museum and then enjoyed a long lunch at the beautiful Poderi Crisci Vineyard complete with a concert "Music for Romantics" performed by their hosts Alex, Fozzie and Paul.

Friday saw the group fly to Great Barrier Island. Upon arrival they explored Medlands Beach, had lunch in Tryphena and had dinner at a local restaurant with stunning views.

On Saturday they enjoyed a boat cruise of Port Fitzroy, taking in the beautiful sights and sounds complete with lunch on board.

A visit to Glenfern Sanctuary followed and they learnt about conservation efforts on the island as well as taking time to explore local area and take in the stunning views. After a hearty dinner at the Barrier Social Club, a magical and informative evening of stargazing followed.

Yesterday, our "Discover Great Barrier Island" trip commenced with our lovely group exploring Howick Historical Village in Auckland where they were treated to a delightful High Tea after learning about the history of the local area. Today, they are off to Waiheke Island before departing for Great Barrier Island on Friday!

Marvelous enthusiasm greeted our performance of 'Shake, Rattle and Roll' today on the North Shore, as the audience enthusiastically embraced the rhythm, getting up to Twist to the infectious beat!

It has been an awe-inspiring journey with our tour, where every moment is described as mind-blowing and gob-smacking by our thrilled group. We have had a great time in this amazing country, visiting historic temples, indulging in a royal dinner at the Winter Palace, and to cap off the weekend, a once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings at sunrise!
