New train in the Med...

This train will make a nice addition to link Milan and Nice along the coast.

A new ‘tourist train’ run by the Italian rail service will take passengers between Nice and Milan this summer, bringing a touch of Riviera flair to the travelling experience.

The ‘Espresso Riviera’ service will run from August 4 to September 1, leaving Milan in the morning to arrive in Nice in the early afternoon, before making the reverse trip in the evening. Each journey takes around six hours.

Tickets start from €44.50, and there will be a dining carriage on the train for passengers to eat onboard, as well as a bar and storage for bikes. First class tickets start from €59.50.

An airport five times the size of Dubai International Airport is slated to open in the next 10 years, and Emirates has already confirmed its will be the world’s biggest airport.

Al Maktoum International Airport will boast five parallel runways and 400 aircraft gates. It will have the capacity for up to 260 million

All operations at Dubai International Airport will be transferred to it in the coming years.

CHANGES on the AIR NZ short haul network: the works will be set to default from 11 June 2024

Air New Zealand is changing its short haul Seats to Suit offering from June. Everyone onboard will now have full in-flight entertainment and be offered a snack.
Works customers will continue to receive one checked bag, a full meal and drinks, entertainment and free standard seat selection.
New flexibility fares include worksflexi, premiumflexi or usinessflexi. The seat+bag product will be discontinued, however you can purchase a seat fare will be able to add one bag for $30.

The purchasing of inflight bites on board will be discontinued and you will still be able to purchase a range of beverages.
Purchasing vouchers at the airport to buy items onboard will no longer be an option.
All transactions will take place in-flight with a Visa, Mastercard or Amex card or with Airpoints. The refreshed Seats to Suit offering will be live from 11 June 2024

From the 14th of February onwards Bali has introduced an International Tourism Levy.
The amount is 150,000 IDR per person which is currently just over $15 NZD. Although it can be paid on arrival, it is recommended to complete payment online before departure to make your arrival process easier.

Good news if BHUTAN is on your Wishlist...

Bhutan is cutting its tourism levy by 50% for travel to Sep 2027, in an effort to further promote more travel to the destination.
It means the daily sustainable development fee is now USD100
per person, per night, which is around $160. The discount also
applies to children, with the fee now USD50 per day for those aged
six to 12 years, around $80.

Bula!🌴

Momi Bay Resort....putting this resort, which is 50min south of Denarau, on the map. Opened in 2017, it is the only resort which offers overwater bungalows on the mainland. Designed as a turtle shape, in a man- made lagoon, it has a lot to offer. This resort is photogenic and has a feeling of a little oasis to come and rejuvenate for a few days. Recommended for couples and families alike. There is an Adults only area, with restaurant & bar overlooking the outer islands. 🐠

Bula!

The calm before the storm in Nadi this morning.
All the amazing adventures planned in the Yasawas Islands this week are cancelled. A real shame as these islands have so much to offer! Instead, we are staying put on the mainland. Denarau is clear of boats, which have been moved to safety, and we will stay indoors from 6pm to 10am overnight as Cyclone Mal passes through. All precautions are being taken to stay safe.
