Ashleigh - Jan 2025 - "We had an absolutely unforgettable day, thanks to Split Apple Rock Cruise! After experiencing the tragic aftermath of a fatal boating accident, I had struggled to find the courage to board a boat again, so booking this experience was a significant step for me. Honestly, I wasn’t sure I’d even make it onto the boat, but we were fortunate to have the perfect skipper to help me face this challenge. The trip was incredibly relaxing and laid-back, with Dave’s warmth, kindness, and welcoming nature making all the difference. He was fantastic with our 3 children and each of them had their own highlight from the trip: our eldest adored swimming with the schools of fish in the crystal-clear waters, while our daughter was thrilled when Dave brought out the bubble wands on the return journey and our 4-year-old was in heaven when he had the chance to wear the skipper’s hat and steer the boat—he’ll be grinning from ear to ear for days!
The coffee and biscuits were a lovely touch and I'm still pinching myself at the affordable price!

Dave, you really have created something truly special here and we will remember this experience forever.

Unfortunately the weather forecast has meant we have had to take Kermit to a safe harbour for the next few days so sadly we are unable to offer cruises. 😢💨💨🌧️🌧️🌧️💦☔

Putting our amazing rock on the map ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Split Apple Rock in Kaiteriteri, New Zealand, is a massive stone that resembles a neatly sliced granite apple. This natural rock formation is estimated to be around 120 million years old. According to Māori legend, two feuding gods split the boulder while fighting over it, using their immense strength to break it in half. The Māori name for the rock, Tokangawhā, means "burst open rock." A more scientific explanation suggests that water seeped into a crack in the rock, froze during an ice age, and expanded, causing the stone to split.
