Not only fabulous walks on our Active Tasmania Tour, but very unique experiences like this wonderful Huon Boat Cruise.
Here is a wee blurb on this little darling…and a few photos from last years tour, which included Tea, Coffee and Scones with jam and cream! The Huon River was gorgeous....

La Drone was built in 1948 on the Tamar River, Launceston, Tasmania. She is a 38ft motor cruiser and lived her whole life in Tasmania. In French, the meaning of "La Drone" is Bandit or Thief which we like to think means she steals your heart as you step into her beautiful interior. Built traditionally and with carvel planking she is made up of Celery Top pine and boasts a magnificent 1950's décor and blackwood fit out that takes you back in time and makes you feel right at home the moment you step aboard. She is able to carry 12 passengers, with a draft of 0.9m and a spacious, luxurious and comfortable all weather fully enclosed cabin and open aft deck, she is perfect for intimate cruises.

We take a short tour of the local Wooden Boat building factory where centuries old building methods are not only taught but used to restore and replicate traditional sailing and motor vessels of yesteryear. Skill appreciation!

Our fabulous trip concluded last night back in a snowy Salt Lake City. I discovered a completely new area of Zion(less crowds) had a delicious lunch in Cedar City before a long drive and a final dinner hosted by SLC Tourism.
Southwest Adventure Tours have been exceptional and I couldn't be happier to be working with them in 2025. I'll be able to put the last pieces into our itinerary ready for market in January. Keep your eyes peeled for this. Thank You for putting up with the daily photo bombs!! Merry Christmas all.

Day 5 and a pre-dawn start to get to today's trailhead in Bryce Canyon before sun up. Donning shoe spikes for the ice and wearing every item of warmth to combat the -11° chill...we bravely set off down into the giddy land of coloured Hoodoos. Bryce is 8000+ft above sea level and while decending into this fairy land as the sun begins is SO magical and a photo op at every turn but the 160m climb out of the canyon is a real lung buster of switchbacks. We earned those breakfast pancakes! A very scenic drive through to our last Park on this trip- Zion. We had a walk up to a fabulous lookout and a quick drive up the cayon to look for condor. Maybe tomorrow we'll see them...tune in for the finale!!

Day 4 had us back enjoying more of the Capitol Reef grandeur. A very under rated park this one and secretly one of my favorites. Of course our Wildside Travel tour visit Capitol Reef in the autumn when the cottonwood trees are blazing yellow, a truly spectacular combo!

Day 4 was full of weird stuff!
Goblin Valley strangeness followed by Curry Pizza- it's a thing and a darn good one at that. Who knew! The day was completed with an epic canyon walk in Capitol Reef National Park. The towering cliffs and twisting colour's are magnificent and the scale will never be captured by a phone...

Day 3 was all about the Red Rock & Arches.
Early morning for us to fit in a full days worth of trails at Arches National Park, a short drive from Moab. In all my visits over the years this one was rather special due to the lack of people. And I mean EMPTY!! We had so many of our trails all to ourselves.😁👌 Despite the glorious blue sky the day started at -4° with a midday high of 6° C. I'm just going to throw these images at you...the place just sells itself!!

Day 2 was a long drive-day from Salt Lake to Southern Utah and an afternoon in the Canyonlands National Park on the outskirts of Moab. Treated to ZERO crowds, melting snow, dramatic cloud backdrops, rounding out to a sunset over Horseshoe corner at -4° 🥶 Getting well looked after by Southwest Adventure Tours and accommodation providers. Two nights in fabulous Moab- great to be back!!

Sunday today, Day 1 of our Utah visit kicked off in a -2° morning, even the air was scared to move!!😆
A short walk to the convention centre (along with half of Salt Lake City) to enjoy a LIVE broadcast (Utah TV) of the fabulous Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra with a selection of Christmas carols. 350 incredible voices all synced to perfection...was quite something!
This was followed by visits to the Natural History Museum, Capitol Hill and and the afternoon animal spotting out on Antelope Island in the fog!
Some pics to round up these new experiences while in the State Capital. The days temp reached 7° incase you are wondering...☺️

Cripes!
30 in the shade up the Moutere today...and I'm busy packing for -3 degrees in Salt Lake City!! (squeal!😁) It's a bit surreal.
Feeling incredibly lucky to be one of 12 Agents (globally) accepted on a famil - hiking the 5 National Parks of Utah in the snow!
Departing this weekend and back in time for Christmas.

You might call it a reccy for our Deserts and Canyonlands Tour we are re-vamping for October 2025. Our new ground operator is South West Adventures and I am off to meet them. Look out for daily picture posts and snow bombs! Details of the tour will be available in January. EXCITED MUCH!!!

The main Round Rarotonga Road Race was a wrap yesterday. Grateful cloud cover for the most part, sun was warming things up by mid-morning but a welcome tail wind kept the last few km's bearable. Over 260 runners were treated to a well run event with an impressive graze table at the finish line!!
Well done everyone!!

A few days in Raro with our runners here for the annual Round Rarotonga Road Race this weekend.
Coffee needs to be replaced with something cold and fizzy...☺️ Don't judge me!!
