A lovely email in today from a couple from California who enjoyed our Summer Beekeeping Experience so much, they now have their own bees !!
Hi Nick,
This is Kent and Debbie Davis from California, we got a tour from you in late March and we talked about wanting to have our own hives.
We ran into a guy who is a 3rd generation bee-keeper ... and he delivered 2 hives today and will do monthly maintenance.
We're very excited. Here is a picture of them. We've told many people about you - your enthusiasm and love for the bees. I think you might have been a 'bee' in a past life.
We loved your stories and spirit.
We hope to pass that on.

A magic (...but wet) morning spent with this crew from Singapore, c/- Travel Hub. This same crew gather every year, with the same guide, and travel the world.....Finland, Canada etc.....and now NZ. We spent the morning Spinning Honey together, and drinking Honey Mead, Honey Liqueurs, and Manuka Honey Brandy. Needless to say, they left with a spring in their steps. Thanks to Travel Hub for bringing us these wonderful groups.

Fantastic day transferring ten mature hives to Walter Peak Station. Thanks to Nico for his muscles lifting bees at both ends of the journey, and a big thanks to the Real NZ team for putting on an extra boat trip to shift the bees, and helping us move these heavy hives from the boat....to the ute....to their new home base. Let the honey gathering begin !!
