If you haven't heard of Fergburger prior to arriving to Queenstown, you will most likely walk past the large queue outside of this burger joint right in the centre of town and wonder to yourself - why are so many people waiting in line for just a burger?

"When we arrived, we walked in to the TV on, and heaters. It was like returning home, even though we’d just arrived. It was extremely welcoming. The home was very clean and tidy. We found the washing facilities fantastic and used the clothes washer most days.

The bathroom showers have incredible water pressure and both bathrooms have heated tiles. The home retains heats well, so of an evening when we turned the heating off before bed, it was still nice to wake up the next morning.

Bridget is a fantastic host and checked in with us via email during our stay, I’m sure if we had any concerns she’d have been straight on to it."

Moke Lake is one of the South Island’s best kept secrets and a favorite spot amongst local photographers. This small lake is located on the outskirts of Queenstown and surrounded by freshwater wetlands, farmland and mountains. A great location for catching the sunrise or sunset. You can even camp out there!

Glenorchy is a charming little town located at the northern end of Lake Wakatipu, about a 45 minute drive from Queenstown. It’s seriously cute and worth a visit.

With a population of just over 300 people, it offers a peaceful escape from the buzz of downtown Queenstown with snow capped mountains framing rolling green hills. It’s a little slice of paradise on earth.

The road itself from Queenstown to Glenorchy has been named one of the most scenic in the world. Make sure you also check out the Glenorchy wharf and red shed!

"Hi to Bridget and the hosts! Thanks so much for your hospitality and flexibility! We needed to drop off our suitcases in a pinch and she accommodated right away!
Great bathrooms, hot water, and functioning washer /dryer which we needed! Nice views, and so close to downtown. We just walked where ever we needed to go. But if you did need an Uber, it’s so easy to call one from her air brb. Thanks for everything!
Also, her place is directly by the garage where you park so you don’t need to drag suitcases up or down any stairs!"

We all want to remember the memories we create and even share them with our friends and family. Social media is a huge part of many people's lives - it's how we stay connected, inspired and for many it's an online photo album of epic places and experiences.

So from here on out, keep an eye out for a new Instagrammable spot each week!

To kick things off, let's talk about Ben Lomond:

The Ben Lomond Track is a demanding hike, but for those able, willing, and searching for an incredible photo spot – it’s a good bet.

For the keen hikers, this is around 6-8 hours return. The track starts on the Skyline Access road or the Tiki Trail. Alternatively, take the Skyline Gondola up and from there it is only a 3-4 hour return hike.

Marvel at the 360-degree views over Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu, the Remarkables and Cecil and Walter Peaks. On clear days, you can even see as far as Mt Earnslaw and Mt Aspiring National Park.

Ayrburn Farm has always been too special not to share - established in 1960! So, in 2023, Ayrburn Farm opened its gates and welcomed people to this picturesque location to create their own Ayrburn memories over food and wine.

The old farm buildings continue to be the main characters in the story of Ayrburn.
