We're super proud of our Manager Kelly McAvinue for taking out AirBnB's NZ Super Host of the year for Best Family Friendly Stay. Kelly works tirelessly to ensure the Bach has got everything a family group would want to have the perfect time together.

The judge noted: “Kelly has put a lot of thought into setting up her home to provide a range of activities for children of all ages to enjoy when on holiday, no matter the weather. We have one of those rare occasions of an upcoming weekend being available. Friday May 10th to Sunday May 12th is currently free. Usually it is $1250 for up to 8 people per night, excluding cleaning and linen but mention this facebook post and we will reduce this to $800 per night for up to 8 people. Our corporate guests love their midweek corporate retreats at The Big Bach. Hauora Taiwhenua Rural Health Network have just stayed and left us this review. 'We held a Board retreat at The Big Bach. Kelly was very responsive and extremely accommodating in allowing earlier and later check out times for our Board. The house was beautifully appointed and perfect for a large group. The setting also made for a relaxed environment and stimulating discussion, something we would not have got in a corporate style venue. We would highly recommend'.

One of the many things our guests love about the bach is the glorious sunsets. A guest took this photo a couple of weeks ago from The Big Bach deck. A moody night but still a stunner. We get many bookings at this time of year for early next year, so get in quick to avoid disappointment. January is fully booked but in February we have three nights remaining. The weekend of 9th and 10th of February. The other night available is Tuesday February 13th. A lucky number for the corporate group that gets to snavel up the last available weeknight booking in February. Get the team off to a great in 2024 start by celebrating your business and discussing the year ahead.

Our weekends this year are filling up quickly, so if you want to escape with friends and family please get in quick. We currently have four weekends available this year.
These are:
August 4-6th
August 11-13th
October 6-8th
December 15th - 17th

Normally it is a minimum 2 night booking for weekends, but on the rare occasion we have one night available on a weekend. Saturday November 11th is available for just the one night.
We also have Sunday October 22nd available for one night. This is labour weekend so select a late check out and relax all day Monday with your friends. Send me an email at [email protected] if you would like pricing for any of the above options.

April 25th is Anzac day and we have dropped our minimum night stay for that public holiday to one night. Either stay Monday night, and we will give you a free late check out to 5pm on Tuesday or arrive anytime from Tuesday 9am and depart the next morning by 11am. We have also dropped our rate and it is $1000 for up to 8 people inclusive of cleaning. Every extra person is $50 per night. Book now to enjoy time away from those never ending jobs at home and actually unwind and relax this Anzac day. Enjoy the freedom our ancestors fought for.

Summer is definitely here and with only 2 nights left in January available, many guests are enjoying The Big Bach these holidays. Normally during Jan a 5 night minimum applies, but if you want a short get away with friends/family The Big Bach is waiting for you on the nights of January 16th and 17th. Mention this add and get cleaning ($200) and linen ($20 per double and $14 per king single) for free. The rate for these nights is $1350 for 8 people and $50 a night per extra person. So for a group of 18 it would be $100 per person per night.

The Big Bach is available this weekend Friday 29th - Sunday 31st July (well free from Tuesday 26th actually). A Covid cancellation means we're offering you 1/2 price on your booking (excludes the cleaning fee and linen which is charged at standard rate).
So grab a crew and have a relaxing weekend away in the spa, around the fire, in the games room, at the beach.
Discounted price $525 per night for the first 8 guests and $25 per extra person per night.
Cleaning fee is $200 and linen is $20 per double and $14 per king single (prices are for duration of stay).

Huge congrats to who were recently named one of the top 10 holiday homes in the country. They placed 4th and narrowly missed out on a medal which is a huge achievement. I’ve loved working with Kelly & Stu over the last two years updating all the bedrooms (there are quite a few), bathrooms and living spaces. They’ve created something really special 💫

An update on our competition - which apologies didn't mention in the previous post. The competition closes 6pm on Monday 20th September. We're drawing the name of the winner that night and will publish the winner on the page and contact them directly.
