Did you know between 1957 and 1976, there was a regular bus service between London and Calcutta, India. The 32,000km, 50 day, 2-way bus route is the longest in the world.

The bus had sleeping bunks and even a kitchen! For just £145, you get to travel with food & accomodation. The bus would stop at attractions and for shopping in Vienna, Istanbul & Iran

The bus ride took passengers from England to Belgium, West Germany, Austria, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Northern India.

After an increase in disrespectful behaviour and overcrowding, one of Kyoto Japan's most famous Geisha districts, Gion, has banned visitors from certain areas.

Tourists can no longer enter alleyways in the district, however, Hanamikoji street, the area's main thoroughfare, will reportedly remain open.

This is a great reminder to be aware and respectful of the places, people, and cultures that reside in the destinations we visit.

The paper Passenger Arrival Card is being phased out at the end of March.

Going forward everyone entering New Zealand needs to submit a New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD) online before departure.

Travellers who have been unable to complete it digitally will be able to complete a paper version on arrival.

Wow 🤩 😮

Make sure to apply for your passport well in advance of your departure date.

The New Zealand passport system will undergo a significant upgrade, which means it will be offline for a short period of time.

The planned passport system upgrades will mean you will not be able to apply, and passports will not be processed, from 5pm on March 7th through to 8am on March 11th.

If you are in the process of applying for a passport, any saved but unsubmitted draft passport applications will be deleted when the upgrade begins.

Whether you want to follow the trends or buck them, it is always handy to know what's popular before you jet off to your next destination. 😎

There is a lot of interesting research coming out at the moment, one big shift is that travellers now say TV shows influence their travel decisions more than Instagram, TikTok, and podcasts. Travellers also seem to be straying away from some of the classic destinations, to alternatives that can provide a comparable atmosphere, attractions, or activities while being more budget-friendly and less overrun by tourists.

Thankyou for the wonderful reference …I love organising your holidays 💕

We have been using Cherie for all our travel needs for the last 15 years.
My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful 6 week holiday that was booked and organised by Cherie. Her attention to detail, organisation and communication are always spot on.
She is knowledgeable about locations, accommodation and facilities and makes suggestions to enhance our experience.
On a couple of occasions we have needed her assistance whilst we have been abroad - due to a cancellation, strike or medical incident . She has always made herself available and has calmly and efficiently helped us out.
We look forward to booking many more amazing holidays with Cherie and we would not hesitate to recommend her services to anyone wanting a hassle free, superbly planned trip.
