It is a day designed for you, by you, where you have the flexibility and independence to choose how you spend your time, which cellar doors you want to visit, how long you spend at each one, and do so all at your own biking pace. We will prov
ide heaps of up-to-date information about the cellar doors and provide you with a detailed cellar door map that we have designed ourselves that show you the bikes paths, quiet roads and what roads to avoid. We also offer to collect your wine for free during the day too if you don't want to carry it :-)
Starting out here in Renwick means you could be at your first cellar door within 2 MINUTES of leaving our front gate. Briefing starts at 9.50am
Bike hire ends at 4.00pm

Thank you so much to all those who have come to see us this week, and thank you to the cellar doors for looking after them so beautifully for us as well - we are already being told "this has been the best day of our holidays by far!!" - how awesomely cool is that 💕
Have a wonderful day, folks

I know I say this every year, but Spring, I think, is one of the loveliest seasons - everywhere you look buds are popping, the birds are singing away and the smell of freshly cut grass is simply delicious - a feast for the senses especially if you are out for a walk (as we were with the girls through Forrest Wines) or cruising along on a bike. ❤️
We just wanted to let you know that our doors open for the season as of tomorrow (2nd September) and our wonderful friends at the cellar doors are ready and raring to go with their beautiful wines chilling, scrummy food and smiles a plenty.
We cannot wait to see you all ❤️
Have a super day, everyone.

Been a solid couple of days of scraping, digging, dumping, grading, filling and rolling by the team from T C Nicholls. They even managed to recycle our soil and popped it into the paddocks for us, and they swept up the old chip so we could reuse it to finish off paths in the garden. Love that, guys :-).
Really chuffed at how it is starting to look - going to be really smart when it is done. Great job, team.
Mother Nature - if you could please now send us a couple of days of dry weather, that would be fantastic, then we can get the top coat on!!!
Bike barn extension complete - tick.
Digger on site to start on the driveway - tick.
The list of jobs on the fridge door is getting smaller by the minute!!
All looking good to go for when we re-open for the season in 2 weeks time :-)
Have a super day, folks.

Who would have thought, roses blooming in Winter!!
Our fire is on, its toasty warm, the girls are all sound asleep, and these are making me smile every time I look at them.
Hope they make you smile, too ❤️.
Thank you, Mum & Dad xx
Hope you are all having a lovely day, folks. x
..been a monster couple of days, this time dismantling the second big shed in readiness for the new double garage extension. We are nearly there with just the floor frame to get taken up and relocated to its next site - very exciting indeed.
The dismantled shed is going to be repurposed as a stable for our miniature horses - Madam, Fudge and Guy :-)
Never a dull moment here!!!
Hope you are all having a superb week.

So incredibly proud of this...

This award is recognition that our tiny family-owned and run business is among the top 10% of things to do worldwide - how cool is that :-)
With plans afoot for some new building work up at bike barn, it means a bit of rejigging is required. So, what does it take to relocate a 3.5x3.5 metre shed + wooden base? Well, just 6 awesome chaps + 6 sack barrows (and the all important 2 wives to offer guidance, of course!!) and within 15 minutes, the shed is nestled down in its new spot beside the fence.
Got to say, we are feeling very blessed to have amazing friends who are there for us when the call goes out. xx

1st June 2024 - today is the official start to Winter, so it is time now for us to give the WTBB team a well deserved break to rest up, recharge the batteries and to be with our furbabies, family and friends. Panic ye not, we won't be gone for long, as our doors will once again fly open as of the 1st September and we will be here ready and raring to go!! :-)
Thank you, to everyone, for what has been our biggest season to date (a tad under 6000 visitors would you believe!!), and boy, have we had a fabulous time :-) It has been an absolute pleasure as always to see so many familiar faces, to meet so many new ones and to have been included in your holidays and sharing your special moments.
To all of our cellar door friends - we couldn't do what we do without you - thank you for your support once again and for looking after our lovely bikers so beautifully.
To our team (Dave, Dale, Pam, Graeme) - what can we say - thank you for being there when we needed you most, for your smiles, your friendship and support, and for making our bikers feel so welcomed and cared for.
As always, we will be here checking emails on a daily basis throughout our break, so if you would like to book, or have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch 😊
Take care of each other, keep laughing, keep smiling - we will see you all again very soon.

"Yes, absolutely." ❤️
A big "thank you" to the amazing crew at Forrest Wines for not only teaming up with us over the weekend (and helping to keep Ollie's plans a secret) but also offering your beautiful grounds for the perfect backdrop and your bubbles to celebrate. When Ollie and Katie came home, they had the biggest smiles and told us that it was a day they will never forget.
Ollie and Katie - thank you for sharing your special moment with us all - it was such a pleasure to be there for you. Wishing you both all the very best ❤️ xx

We will be closed on the 25th April 2024 for ANZAC DAY.
To us, this is a day to remember and a day to thank all New Zealanders and Australians "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served" as well as the animals who played and continue to play an integral part during conflicts who have lost their lives as well.
Lest we forget.

Harvest has begun, and over the next few weeks it will be a hive of activity as harvest machines work through the day and night to get the grapes off and into the tanks. The culmination of 6 months of tender loving care by the viticulturalists will come to an end.
What will this seasons wines taste like? We will have to wait to find out - exciting times indeed.
Good luck everyone :-)

We want to say a really big thank you to the amazing cellar door community out here in Renwick who have been helping us gather wine bottle caps for the Lions Club Blenheim for recycling to raise money for Kidney Kids NZ . A very simple task, but one that has a huge impact on kids and their families. What a fantastic job, everyone - keep them coming :-)

It's a warm one today
What a day it was for rain!!
We all ended up looking like drowned rats, and our sexy ponchos were definitely needed, but well done to everyone for staying so positive and not letting the weather spoil your day :-)
Time for a hot shower and get out of our squelchy shoes!! :-)

The view from Bladen Wines...our lovely biking folk are simply raving about their experience there.. ❤️
So, what are you doing this weekend? How does relaxing in a beanbag with a tasting platter of 7 wines and a cheese board at Forrest Wines sound to you?
Cheryl and family cruising along the bike path on the way to their next cellar door. Sounds like they are having fun....
Beautiful shot over Cloudy Bay Winery. Thank you Gerard O'Donovan for sharing this with us. You certainly had an awesome time out there on our bikes :-)
So you lovely ladies have never been on a tandem before? We would never have guessed - you were absolute naturals!! Nice one Bree and Hannah :-) Enjoy the wine you bought today. Cheers Steve and Jo
With a visit to Gibson Bridge under their belt, now it is just a gentle cruise past our driveway on the quiet residential road, with not a statehighway road in sight, and Sharon and Bart are on their way to Forrest Wines via their bike path.
Just having a bit of fun this afternoon putting our new roadsters through their paces :-) Thank you Forrest Wines for having us :-)
The afternoon was an absolute stunner here again today, so friends and family took the opportunity to test run our new roadsters down the bike path to Forrest Wines and back again. All the bikes past the test with flying colours, so are now ready to start cruising among 8 of Renwick's gorgeous cellar doors as of this weekend (21st October).
Well, we did promise you that we would let you into our wee secret, so here is a sneaky peek at the latest addition to our cruiser fleet :-) We haven't come up with a name for them yet, so if anyone has any ideas, we would love to hear them :-) We have 5 of these 2-seater beauties - ($100.00 per bike to hire), plus a 4-seater bike ($160.00 to hire) to complete the collection (with free shuttle bus service from Blenheim or Renwick) All have adjustable seats, gears, and because each person can pedal independently from one another it makes them really easy to ride, big baskets on the back to hold any wine bottles and bags, and they are pretty much guaranteed to make you smile as soon as you get on them!! Even better, if there is anyone out there who is not confident riding a bike, we hope this will give you the chance to have just as much fun visiting Renwick's cellar doors as our two-wheeled folk have :-) These are being put together as we speak, so can be hired out as of Labour Weekend ( 23rd October 2017), so if you fancy giving them a go, we would love to make it happen for you :-) Take care Cheers Steve and Jo - www.winetoursbybike.co.nz
Yet another glorious Marlborough Day - the perfect time of year to celebrate "16 Days of Sauvignon Blanc". Here we have Michael and his friends who have come down from Auckland and Wellington to celebrate with Marlborough and spend ANZAC weekend in the region too (and when you have weather like this, why wouldn't you!! :-) It looks like their first stop is going to be Gibson Bridge who are just around the corner from us. The sky is blue, the sun is out and the birds are singing away - very tempted to get on our bikes as well!! Enjoy it out there folks :-) Cheers Steve and Jo #sauvblanc #winemarlborough #nzwine #marlboroughnz #winetoursbybike
Here is Brad and family heading off to cruise around Renwicks' beautiful cellar doors to celebrate not only "16 Days of Sauvignon Blanc" but also his birthday. :-) Marlborough once again put on a fantastic Autumn day for everyone - crumbs we love this time of year - the colours are just amazing. It was awesome seeing you guys again and thank you for doing such a grand job of supporting the wineries:-). A big thank you also goes to Forrest Wines, Gibson Bridge, Bladen Wines, Wairau River Wines and Whitehaven Wines for looking after them. Safe travels home, folks Cheers Steve and Jo #sauvblanc #winemarlborough #nzwine #marlboroughnz
Beautiful day in Marlborough today and here we have the wonderful Caitlin and her friends just heading off on their cellar door adventure today - I think Forrest Wines is first on their bucket list, so it's over the little white bridge, turn right down the bike path and they will be chilling out in a beanbag with a glass of wine in their hand within about 2 minutes!! ;-) Have fun ladies :-)
Just look at what stepped out of our minibus this morning ;-). I don't think Steve and I will ever look at a bright orange road cone the same way, ever again! Even though the rain was falling, it did nothing to dampen the spirits of these wonderful ladies. Thank you, Melissa. You and your wonderfully crazy friends brought lots of laughter into our day and we just love this attitude. We have no doubt that you are going to have an amazing time out there among the wineries:-) Enjoy the wine and food, and thank you for coming to support their cellar doors. Thank you to Nautilus Estate, Giesen Wines, Huia Vineyards, Forrest Wines and No.1 Family Estate for looking after them:-) Cheers Steve and Jo www.winetoursbybike.co.nz
I must say, there is certainly an art to taking videos on phones and as you can see, I am still learning!! I did, however, manage to catch the fabulous Emma and her team on their cruiser tandems as they came down the home straight on Blicks Road, Renwick. You all look absolute "naturals" on those bikes, guys and girls :-) Thank you for making the journey up from Christchurch especially to visit us all - it was wonderful seeing you:-) Cheers Steve and Jo - www.winetoursbybike.co.nz #winetoursbybike #onlymarlborough #brillianteveryday https://www.tripadvisor.co.nz/Attraction_Review-g609167-d1167176-Reviews-Wine_Tours_By_Bike-Renwick_Marlborough_Region_South_Island.html
Want your business to be the top-listed Travel Agency?
In a nutshell....Wine Tours By Bike has been in the business of hiring bikes for over 22 years and was the first bike hire company to start operating here in Marlborough. It was originally based in Blenheim, but being a good 1 hour bike ride from the majority of cellar doors, folk found the journey just too far (both there and back) and the fast Statehighway roads that they had to ride on to get out to Renwick not in the least bit pleasurable. When the business came up for sale 8 years ago, we knew right from the start that the best place to bring it to was out to our property here in Renwick as one of the beautiful things about it is that we are surrounded by quiet roads and are right in the heart of the cellar doors. So, we put in an offer, and to our great excitement, it was accepted :-) We were now the proud owners of 25 old bikes!!
Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength and we are loving every minute of it. One of the first things we did was to replace “said 25 old bikes”and we now have upwards of 100+ to offer from single bikes, tandems, trikes, 4 wheeled bikes, tag-alongs, kids bikes and trailers. We then started working closely with the local council to get more bike paths put in place, and with the support of a number of amazing cellar doors and land owners coming on board, more have since followed and there will be more to come which is absolutely fantastic for everyone.
Our bike hire is all about offering you the chance to take a self-guided/unguided cruise around Renwicks’ beautiful cellar doors, many of whom are amazingly close not only to us but also each other (between 5-10 minutes gentle biking apart). Being in the middle of a valley, the roads to each of the cellar doors are as flat as a pancake and they are so easy to find so the bikes can be enjoyed by young and old alike, whether you are travelling alone, as a couple, a family or in a group. You could be at your first cellar door within 2 MINUTES of leaving our front gate.
With the freedom to choose the cellar doors you want to visit based on how far you want to bike, where you fancy stopping for lunch, what wines you love, and do it all without worrying that you have to keep up with others, your time on the bikes is truly your own. You don’t need to book appointments to visit any of the cellar doors ahead of time (unless you are part of a big group of over 8 people, and in that case, we can help put an itinerary together for you so that you know you will be looked after at each place you visit:-), and we will be there at the start to give you heaps of friendly advice, recommendations and ideas to help make your time on the bikes the best it can be.
We are also there if you need us as we offer a full emergency backup service, so if something happens to your bike ie your chain falls off or you get a puncture whilst you are out and about, a quick phone call will have us there to replace your bike within minutes and if you by chance buy more wine than you can carry, we can go and collect it for you as well.
Our bike hire, however, is not just for those who want to visit the cellar doors - if you are not a wine drinker and the idea of just heading out for a ride among the vineyards and back country roads, with a stop somewhere for lunch is more your thing - we can help you with that too.
Keeping you and those around you safe is our number one priority, and always has been, and knowing that this activity involves alcohol, we certainly do not want you to risk drinking and then driving afterwards. If you are staying in Renwick or Blenheim for the night we offer a FREE pickup and drop off service (within 15km of our base in Blicks Road) and we encourage you to use this.
We have 2 bike hire start times: Bike Hire A (Self-Guided) Pick up from accommodation at 9.30am Briefing starts at 10.00am Bike hire ends at 4.00pm Drop off to accommodation between 4.15pm and 4.30pm Bike Hire B (Self-Guided) Pick up from accommodation at 10.30am Briefing starts at 11.00am Bike hire ends at 5.00pm Drop off to accommodation between 5.15pm and 5.30pm If arriving after 12 Noon (maybe on the ferry or from out of town), just give us a call & we will do our best to arrange an alternative start time for you:-) Cost is adjusted accordingly.
We are located at Tripadvisor's award winning, Hillsfield House B&B in Renwick, (only 10 minutes by car from Blenheim), in the heart of the Marlborough Wine Region. We are now in our 22nd season and proud to display TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Awards for 2011-2019 inc. GROUPS VERY WELCOME - discounts offered for 10 or more All Inclusive cost: $45.00 p/p Single Cruiser Bike $80.00 per couple for a Tandem Cruiser $45.00 p/p Single Cruiser Trike (for those who cannot ride single bikes only ;-) $90.00 per couple for the 2 seater Roadster $160.00 for 4 people for the 4 seater Roadster The world is going through some tough times at the moment but with a little patience, kindness and taking time to look out for each other, we will come through it. We will be here waiting at the end of all of this and look forward to seeing old friends again and meeting new ones.
Have a wee look at our website - www.winetoursbybike.co.nz as this will give you a really good feel for what it is we offer, but if you have any questions at all, please feel free to get in touch and we will do our best to answer them for you.
We are looking forward to seeing you. Take care, everyone. Cheers Steve, Jo, Willow and Lee-Ah (our two SPCA Rescue Dogs)
