There's something in the water at Porirua this weekend!
Big congrats to Chris Haynes who bowled an 879 series in the trios event this morning, which included not one but TWO 300 games!!! Well done Chris, that's got to be an NZ record! Video to come...
As in the next squad of Doubles Michael Gibbs (Gibby) threw down a 299!!!
Awesome games to watch on what has been a very high scoring weekend :)

The Walter Rachuig Trophy at Tenpin City in Sydney has just concluded and while there were some outstanding performances, it was not the result we were hoping for.
Nz finished in 9th overall and in both the Men's and Women's division. Victoria took out the overall spot, with their ladies in first and Queensland taking first in the men's.
While the points don't show it we had some standout effort from the NZ team. Blake Brooks and Craig Nevatt finished in 13th & 15th place respectively, with averages of 219.1 and 218.4.
Melanie Lister had a good run in the women's finishing in 18th with a 208.4 average.

Update from the Worl Senior Champs
Men's Teams - second block
The Men had a tough day on the lanes today, concluding their teams event on the London pattern. They finished well, but we're unable to retain the 3rd placing from yesterday, placing 6th all up. This is still the best placing a NZ Men's team has had in this event, passing the 2013 placing of 17th.
This rounded off an awesome tournament for our Men with Roger only missing the Masters cut by 25 pins, finishing in 28th!
Greg held it together in 38th, Terry in 45th and Hamish in 56th.
The men are ready for a well earned break now and are gearing up to support the ladies in their last block. Live streaming on the last game!

Update from the World Senior Champs
Ladies Doubles
It was a mixed bag for the ladies this afternoon. Wink & Janet struggled with the complexities of the lane condition, while Lynn & Cushla pushed hard to only miss the medal round by 48 pins finishing up in 8th place.
On the bright side, they managed to finish ahead of the no.1 Aussie team, which is never a bad thing :)
The team are looking forward to a later start tomorrow with the Mens Teams event starting at 10am (5am NZT). They'll be starting on lane 26 and will be on the tv pair in the second game youtube.com/bowltv
The Ladies start their teams event at 2pm (9am NZT) and start on lane 38. For the third time the ladies miss out on the tv pair, but we'll endeavour to get some shots of them bowling!
