We were lucky enough to attend the Matariki dinner tonight held in a marquee at the Rotorua Airport as part of the business MEETINGS event held in Rotorua.

Entertainment was amazing from local singers including Nikau Grace to NZ Artist Holly Smith.

The Rotorua NZ Business team have knocked the Events out of the park this week and all in attendance have been in awe.

Tonight was no different... amazing. We were the first in NZ to see this amazing drone light show over the airspace at Rotorua Airport. It was breathtaking with lots shedding tears with how emotional it was.

I can't show it all as the video was over 11 mins but here is a snippet. If you can make it to the Lakefront on Matariki to watch don't miss it.

Big day for Ready2roll we are moving around 100 pax today for MEETINGS.

Had an awesome site visit at Polynesian Spa today with Alan and Sarah hosted by Vicki from Sales and Marketing.

Tour through the full property seeing all the spa facilities, health and wellness centre where you can do yoga and meditation classes as well as all the pools.

Alan headed off early and left Sarah and I to enjoy a soak in the deluxe lake pools after our tour. Was bliss we could have stayed there for hours but thought we better come back to the office and do some work! Tough job but someone has to do it.

We finished off with a mango lasi Gelato. Omg this has to be tried was absolutely delicious! Pop in and try one today!

The spa offer AIX massages, couple, mum and child massages and lots more. Go check them out today and if you haven't already apply for your locals pass which gives you great discounts on site on treatments, gift shop, pools and Cafe.

SOUTH ISLAND DAY 9
Tekapo to Christchurch

Well I've just realized we didn't finish our posts!

We had an early start to the day after a late night at Dark Star Project. Our son wanted to get back to Christchurch to check out a car show of supercars that finished at lunchtime. So hubby and I got up early and set off leaving the kids to sleep. I really wanted to see the church of the Good Shepherd and at 6.45am there was already others there making the most of the sun rising. It's a beautiful building and a must see. Our friends had told us it was open to go inside the day prior and was stunning inside. Did the obligatory pics before heading off. Although we had a long trip ahead of us we still had to stop and take pics of the landscape as it was spectacular. We grabbed breakfast in Fairley. The pies there were amazing. Hubby had a pulled pork and apple pie which was a top seller and it was delicious. Like a roast in a pie and it even had crackling on top!

We managed to make it to Christchurch in time for Josh to check out his cars and he was in paradise. One happy boy and about 200 photos later we could leave!

We decided it might be easier to go to the Antarctic centre today rather than try and return the camper and go in the morning.

The Antarctic centre was fantastic. We had a private tour since we are in the industry. Great experience and very informative. Had a drive in the little Hagglunds with Charlize in the front seat being co driver. Those vehicles are incredible what they can do the angles, sp*ed, driving over big metre wide gaps. Loved the blizzard in the room it got so cold we huddled in a group to stay warm I only had scuffs on so cold feet and typically our son was in shorts! They give you big jackets to wear in there. Overall would highly recommend this experience especially the up close and personal with the huskies.

Headed back to the camp ground and cleaned out van, packed our bags ready for the morning. Was a bit of a mission and I had a few favorite rocks I collected along the way that needed to come home with us! Brought another checked suitcase to get my precious rocks home! Now proudly displayed in my garden.

Finished off our amazing holiday by going for dinner at a teppanyaki meal which was awesome. Very entertaining.

SOUTH ISLAND
Day 8
Cromwell to Mt Cook to TeKapo

We woke to the most beautiful day, was t shirt weather, had a bit of a sleep in as every morning had been full on and the kids were getting tired.

Hubby had seen Highland Motorsport park the night prior and googled what time it opened. It was opening at 10am so we headed there first. This was a wee gem we didn't know about but glad we found it. There is go kart racing, a car museum, fast Laps, a Cafe and of course the loo with views!

We ended up sending our son for a ride in the Ferrari and this made his day. He loved it. We then did the Porsche electric car Tycann 0 to 120km in 2.5 seconds fast starts. Hubby, our daughter and I did this was very cool. After our rides we looked through the museum, had lunch in the Cafe (our first Southern Roll down South) and then used the loos. In the men's room there are musical urinals that play music when the men p*e on them and not to forget Donald Trumps mouth ... who wouldn't want to p*e in there right! There were squirter bottles that the female could have a turn with!

While we were here and since it was a nice day I contacted The Helicopter Line who operate out of Glenn Tanner Park near Mt Cook to see if they had any flights available. They had 2 seats on a flight at 4pm so did the timings and worked out we could be there by then. Meant getting to Te Kapo later as we were meeting friends for dinner their but it was too good of an opportunity not to miss.

So we headed off towards Mt Cook. Josh and I were doing the flight. We got upgraded to a longer flight with a landing at Franz Josef so it was amazing. Definitely recommend flying out of here to see Mt Cook and the glaciers.

Was a very cool experience. Definitely one to tick off the list.

We got to Te Kapo about 6pm and joined our friends for a bbq dinner they had prepared for us. Was absolutely freezing by then and we had booked a stargazing night with Dark Star project. We all rugged up with hats, gloves and multiple layers for our 11pm booking. We met at the meeting place, were given extra jackets and bused up to the man made crater to view the stars. Being in the man made crater blocked out any other lights around. Our guide was an Astro Physicist and knew her stuff. She had a laser pointer and could point to star formations in the sky which was pretty cool. There were 4 telescopes to view from. We agreed it was cool but probably not worth the charge. Was nearly $500 for all of us for 75 mins. Would I do it again? No.

Tomorrow we are getting up early to head to Christchurch as there is a super car show on that the boys want to see.

SOUTH ISLAND
Day 7
Te Anau to Milford Sound to Cromwell

We were told rain was a good thing for Milford Sound and we got a great misty rainy day. We had allowed 2.5 hours to get there from Te Anau. 2 is what it takes but we knew we were going to want to stop and take pics along the way. It was a freezing morning, our first yet and we could see why as we got closer. There was snow on the mountain ridges. It got down to 6° and was rather icy feeling. I was snuggled up in the back of the van under a duvet. As predicted we did stop several times as the scenery was breathtaking. Everywhere we looked there were waterfalls coming off the mountains.

We were booked to do the cruise with Mitre Peak Cruises and Milford Sound Scenic Flights. It was a slightly smaller boat but in our opinion this was better for us as there were fewer tourists on the boat, you could move around easier, get better pics etc. There were hot drinks available throughout the cruise. The mist was quite heavy in the beginning. It got better as the mist lifted and we could see the peaks. Milford was probably the highlight of the trip. It was absolutely stunning. Our son left the boat absolutely drenched. He was on the top deck for the duration and when the boat went straight under the waterfalls he was there on the top deck soaking it all in. The parking at Milford Sound is $10 per hour and there is only one Cafe down there which is rather pricy so it's suggested you take food with you. There are no shops on the way into Milford or toilets that we saw.

Was a fantastic day out. On the way out I was driving and saw what I thought was a kea on the road so I pulled over near the tunnel and sure enough it was a cheeky kea. He came over to the van and sat on our wing mirror for ages. Next thing there was three of them. We interacted with them for about 15 minutes while waiting for the next light phase. One of them thought he might like to eat our rubber trims on the front window. Flicking the window wipers on put end to that lol. It was a very cool experience for the kids to see one in his own environment.

We headed right through to Cromwell after Milford. We didn't have a booking here for the night and found a last minute camp ground. Probably not somewhere we would stay again. Lots of fruit pickers live here, people were drinking around cabins, was the first time I felt like it wasn't a family environment and made sure we went to the facilities with our daughter. Have to say though that the showers were probably the best I had used. They were unisex showers and massive with loads of space within them.

We headed into Cromwell that night for dinner and found an amazing wee Indian restaurant and the food was amazing.

Tomorrow we are off to Te Kapo for a bit of stargazing.

SOUTH ISLAND DAY 6
Queenstown to Te Anau

We had a booking for Skyline this morning. Only problem is there was no parking not even for a car up there. We finally found the only suitable campervan car park on Boundary Road and caught an uber back up to Skyline.

The views from Skyline were spectacular. However the luge was a disappointment. Only 2 tracks and within 2 mins it was over. I certainly would not waste money on these luges if you were doing both Rotorua and Queenstown. Rotorua for the win, you travel through beautiful forest, and long tracks. Queenstown is under construction so it's a series of scaffolding and stairs to even get to the start of the luge tracks. Not much atmosphere up there, very cramped overstocked gift shop with usual tourist items.

It was very disappointing. We often get our visitors say they are not doing our luge as they are going in Queenstown. We can 100% now tell them they need to do our one!

Safe to say we didn't stay up there any longer than we needed to. We headed back down into town to wait for our lunch trip to Walter Peak.

Now this was a cool trip. Headed over on the Earnslaw to Walter Peak farm for a bbq lunch. The food was amazing and there was plenty of it. Afterwards we got to watch a farm show, sheep shearing, rounding up the sheep. Great little show and beautiful venue. I can imagine in summer it would be magical over there.

Definitely a trip to do.

Had a great trip back over the lake. Sat near the piano player who knocked out a few requests and had us all singing along with her.

Great afternoon out. Got back ordered Sal's pizza to go for dinner as we knew it would be dark by the time we got to Te Anau.

Checked in to Top 10 Holiday Park. Probably the most basic facilities so far but still clean

Time for an early night as tomorrow is Milford Sound so its going to be a big day, rain is coming and we had been told if there is rain on a Milford trip it's more magical so fingers crossed.
