Nans Place in Rotorua

Nans Place in Rotorua Hospitality Heritage History Home Nans Place is a cute cottage close to central Rotorua that is available to rent as a holiday home.

Recharge your batteries in a place infused with memories from days gone by. A few minutes walk to the Lake, a little further to the fantastic Kuirau Park and it sits on the Rotorua to Ngongotaha trail,
From here you can enjoy as much walking, biking or resting as you want in this Incredible area. A pleasant mix of vintage, including original items from the families early days alongside of the comf

orts of the now. Comfortable bedding configuration is for 5, all with a mix of feather duvets and cosy blankets. The kitchen may be tiny but it is well stocked with a great array of quality utensils, cutlery, crockery & outdoor-ware. In the large lounge we have filled the cupboards & shelves with books, puzzles and games for all ages. We have renovated to bring the old home into the modern era, maintaining plenty of the original and adding enough of the new, keeping the feel and heart of what to us will always be Nans Place.. Built between 1928-1931 this property was our Koro (grandfather) and Nana's home, built especially for them on the site that had been Koro's whanau (family) land. Incredibly rich in history (some of which is recorded in our Country archives) If you desire there is plenty of of this history that we can share with you!

Yesterday New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) announced a multi-year grant of $400,000 towards the strengthening, restoration and redevelopment of our iconic Rotorua Museum Te Whare Taonga o Te Arawa 🙌

This generous grant makes up the final piece of funding for the building project, and now the focus will move to securing external funding for world-class exhibition development.

Watts & Hughes Construction have been busy with pre-construction preparation on-site with roofing scaffolding due to go up in a few weeks.
