The Mountain Bike Rotorua Share the Ride for Xmas giveaway is back!
The last few months have been incredibly tough for some so we want to see if we can brighten someone’s day, and we need your help.
We have over a dozen bikes to give away to deserving members of our community in Rotorua.
If you know someone who you think should be one of this years Mountain Bike Rotorua Share the Ride for Xmas bike giveaway recipients then please send an email with a couple of paragraphs letting us know why you’ve nominated them along with their name and height to [email protected]
Nominations close lunchtime 23 December and we’ll be reaching out soon after to arrange delivery.
This is open to anyone and everyone in the Rotorua district.

Our little slice of heaven tucked up in the corner of the world has had a bloody awesome run of having no community transmission through NZ for over 100 days.
Unfortunately we have all learned tonight that that has now ended with a family in a household in Auckland testing positive.
Auckland is moving to level 3 restrictions but the rest of the country is set move to level 2 while the situation is assessed.
A quick reminder of the what level 2 and 3 means;
Level 2 - Reduce - the virus is contained but there is a risk of community transmission
Level 3 - Restrict - there is a heightened risk that the disease is not contained.
What does this mean for us?
As of first thing tomorrow, we are implementing our MDA Group Safety Management Systems Covid-19 Response Level 2 protocols. We couldn’t think of a clever acronym for this but I can assure you we tried really hard to...
Briefly this means;
MDA Experiences - private group tours only
MTB Rotorua Bike Hire and Retail- social distancing rules reinstated such as; 1 group in the shop at a time; 1m social distancing in between groups; sanitising surfaced after each use etc.
Waipa and Redwoods Cafes - social distancing, delivery of orders to table etc
MTB Rotorua Shuttles - social distancing rules, daily sanitising of buses, half load buses, self clipping tickets etc.
We plan on keeping our same operating times for all operations at this stage but keep an eye out on our social platforms for more updates. Bare with us on Wednesday morning as we work to get our Level 2 Covid-19 Response Protocols back up and running which may cause a few little delays.
Fingers crossed Aotearoa can continue to be its awesome self and smash this latest confirmed cluster of cases out of the park. We’ve been a beacon of light for the world and now let’s show them how to handle the second wave like a pro.
