Just a friendly reminder of the closure of the Brynderwyn Hills from midnight 16 April 23 for 2 weeks...

UPDATE - ROAD CLOSED - MON 17 APR

This section of SH1, between Brynderwyn & Waipu, is now closed until approx 6am, Mon 01 May (subject to weather and other factors). Please follow detours as noted below or check our Highway Map here: https://www.journeys.nzta.govt.nz/highway-conditions/northland/closures/415657

SH1 BRYNDERWYN HILLS - CLOSURE REMINDER
Currently, (as at Thu 13 April) both northbound and southbound lanes on State Highway 1 are OPEN over the Brynderwyn Hills, between Waipu and Brynderwyn, for both light and heavy vehicles. However, from 11:59pm on Sun 16 April 2023, this section of SH1 will close again in both directions for approximately 2 weeks to complete repairs. More: http://spr.ly/6182OzPb4

For the two-week period that SH1 will be fully closed detour routes (in both directions) will be: Light Vehicles may travel via Mangawhai, between Waipu and Kaiwaka, using The Braigh, Cove Rd, Tara Rd and Kaiwaka Mangawhai Rd. Heavy vehicles, including HPMV, must use SH14 and SH12 (via Dargaville) between Whangarei and Brynderwyn. Please allow extra time. ^TP
