Well there's no boring sandwiches here.❌ Each day our team prepare a range of meals and snack options to fill your child's body with goodness and offer their taste buds delight! 🤩 From Butter Chicken Rice to Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins and everything in between! All served each day with plenty of Fresh Fruit and Veggies to fuel our growing Tamariki! Check out these little beauties which show just a small sample of what kids are served.

Here are some highlights from last weeks ⭐Matariki celebrations⭐ at sKids. Smiles shone bright while the kids designed star fairy bread, in our food technology activity. But the smiles grew even brighter while getting to eat it 🍞🧚🏽‍♀️. Kids also conducted a star experiment, testing the speed and expansion of wood fibres combined with water over time. We figured out that the longer the wood stayed in the water the more it expanded!

Last week we had fun learning and creating all things Quacky as we Investigated Ducks! sKids Kids had an Art lesson on how to draw a duck. Kids then created the an environment and brought it all to life with pastels! 🎨 All the kids LOVED getting into the kitchen discovering Food Technology making yummy chocolate coated pretzel ducks! 🥨🍫

❄️Welcome to Winter Wonderland❄️

As the frosty season sets in, we're jumping into winters magic at sKids! Our winter explorers have created ‘SnowMan Poppers’ and ‘Sparkling Snowstorms in a jar’- like little scientists 🫙🧪. We got competitive, playing games like 'Don’t Melt the Snowball' and exciting STEM challenges!! These included building Abominable snowman fortresses ☃️ and crafting unique cotton bud snowflakes❄️.

Holiday Program Day 1: The Shire 🏡⛰️

The first day of the Holiday Program kicked off with a day full of hobbit themed arts and crafts. We were introduced to ‘The Shire’ and designed our own 🏡Hobbit Holes🏡.The Junior’s crafted their hobbit holes with wonderful water colours 🎨! And the Senior’s used paper layering and texture to create a 2D masterpeice 🖼️!

✨skids Term 1 Highlights✨

As term 1 comes to a close, we take some time to look back at our 🙌best moments🙌 from this term. 🗓️

We got artistic, making Renè Mariette inspired watercolour art, Autumn trees and where the wild things masks🎨🌲🎭. We became scientists and conducted experiments: Using M&M’s to learn dissolution properties and Jelly Beans to experiment with force 🍬🍭. Food technology helped us create muffin alligators and “golden pots of yumminess” .🐊🧁☘️

Easter came early to sKids KingsWay🐰🍫! Children loved Discovering Force when using their powerful lungs to exert enough force to transfer marshmellows from one place to another🍬. They unleashed their inner artist with Easter inspired stain glass windows🎨. Bowling for Bunnies was a hit, where kids developed hand-eye coordination! 🎳
