We take pride in visiting the lesser known areas of the wider Coromandel area. Beautiful volcanic rock formations, caves, an abundance of bird and marine life, crystal clear water & ancient Māori Pā sites are just a few of the highlights of our tours.

FAQ: Are kids allowed on board?

Absolutely! And kids under 3 are FREE.

We love having kids on board, particularly as we often see a range of seals, dolphins, stingrays, fish, birds and much more from the boat. The excitement of children seeing these (sometimes for the first time) is second to none.

👉 Adults: from $110 | Kids (3-16yrs): from $60
👉 Kids under 3 free 🙂

Our tours are extremely safe, have been designed with families in mind, and we are both qualified and experienced watermen.

Hey! Thanks for finding our page. We’re Hayden and Richie - the guys behind Coromandel Ocean Adventures (COA). We’re both proud locals, growing up in Tairua and spending our life on the water.

We started this business out of our joint love for the ocean, marine life and Coromandel scenery. We wanted others to experience this magic, and started our ‘ocean tiki tours’.

About us:

- The COA difference: When you come on a boat tour with us, expect an experience different to any other provider. We’re seriously proud locals, outdoors lovers and passionate marine life experts, not just a commercial franchise. You can expect to go off the beaten track & have a laugh along the way, with skippers that go over and above.

- Locations: We take you to all of our hidden gems, and other classics like Cathedral Cove.

- Snorkelling: You can swim, snorkel, or just enjoy the view ✌️(free masks provided 🤿)

- Marine life: We get sightings of whales, dolphins, seals, birds, sharks and much more daily. And we’ll tell you all about each one - Hayden even holds a marine biology degree!

- Safety: We’re both experienced & professional watermen, having spent over 10,000 hours on the water. Richie’s a third generation boatman. Your safety is of utmost importance to us. We check the conditions, only going out if it’s safe. We provide life jackets on board, and all required safety gear. So you can relax, sit back, and enjoy the trip!

On this tour we explore iconic Cathedral Cove, Boat Harbour, the Orua sea cave, Hot Water Beach, Te Whanganui a Hei Marine Reserve and other brilliant sites on this 2 hour tour of our backyard.

A great option for all ages, and a neat way to see the lasting positive impacts of a 30 year old marine reserve - how many snapper can you count?
