Trip Advisor (House Truck) review;
"The journey itself to get to Golden Bay Hideaway is stunning so when the final piece of this mystery birthday trip for my wife fell into place - arriving at the House Truck set in the bush - we were both in heaven. We took special edible and fluid treats to remove any need to trouble the stove. The total privacy of the place left us comfortable in the outside bath and shower. The peace at night was exquisite and our sleeps were long and deep. The 30 minute walk to the beach involved passing through the beautiful Maori-carved entrance way to the Abel Tasman Coast Track then branching left off this to the Wainui Bay beach. We swam both days and also on one night when we revelled in the phosphorescence. The colour of the sand is as per the photos - golden. The water a crystal clear blue. There are various walking options but we chose to focus on just chilling out together on the long and almost deserted beach, or back at the House Truck. This was a very special time together unpolluted by humankind."

Todays guest review! 🥰“This is simply the most idyllic place we've ever stayed in, anywhere in the world. We've lived in and subsequently visited NZ and Abel Tasman many times (also the most glorious place to walk in the world), but this was incredible. The panoramic views are constantly breathtaking, and you have total privacy, with no other dwellings in sight or looking over you. It's really spacious for two people as well.”

🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕Just polishing off the amazing prosciutto crudo and a vegetarian, highly recommended!

Al Forno is making the most delicious authentic Italian pizza and is now also set up right next to Aroha in the garden.

We highly recommend to take your family out for dinner during the holidays and wish the amazing team from Al forno a great summer season!!!!!

Guest review: Relax and kick back
Ah. Our old faithful house truck. The wood stocked up for the chippy and we were as happy as we could be. Those little touches. The flower in the vase on the outdoor bath shelf, the newly installed hand soap dispenser for the outdoor dunny, the flowers in the vase upstairs on the bedroom shelf and the absolute cleanliness of it!!
Our fourth stay there (at least) and it just keeps getting better. The house truck always makes for a totally relaxing, serene stay where you can either lounge about all day with a book or take a brief stroll to set you on the fabulous walking path the area has to offer. Love, Love, LOVE it!!

Our passive design Greenies really shine in winter....Alex and Noel just checked out of Kiwi Greenie and had this to say:
"Amazing place, stunning views, in such a calming environment. A true slice of paradise! We also loved the passive house design, so comfortable to sleep in at night, and relax in reading books. We didn’t need any heating, on the contrary we opened the doors to let some cool air in."

TURN YOUR PLASTIC WASTE INTO FREE PEGS THIS SATURDAY AT VILLAGE MARKET

Golden Bay Hideaway will be operating the recycling plastic machine at the Village Market on Saturday. Bring your washed #5 plastic, with paper labels removed, to the market and we will transform them into clothes pegs that you can take home with you for free, along with the understanding of why recycling properly is so important. Dirty plastic and containers with the wrong numbers will contaminate the recycling process and results in most of our plastic going to landfill. Remember numbers 1, 2, and 5 are the only plastics currently recyclable in NZ. For the art of recycling to work it HAS to be clean, #5 plastic is polypropolene, and typical examples of food containers are pictured

Just been up to Anahata Yoga Retreat for a wonderful yoga nidra practice and yum vegetarian lunch! This weekend they have a Mushroom cultivation workshop (run by some lovely Wainui neighbours) which looks like a good deal!! And you get to take a starter kit home with you. We're away sadly but I reckon this would be a great day!! Support them, you also get a yoga nidra session and lunch thrown in for the $130 workshop fee xx

Personally, rate this little adventure to Taupo Point as the #1 must do in Wainui Bay….. never seen so many people as today lol! Over a dozen!!! Not a jandal job though, allow 3 hours and avoid high tide.

3 MONTH CONTRACT (DEC-FEB)
Exciting opportunity for a couple at one of NZ's premium eco-accommodation businesses in beautiful Wainui, Golden Bay, 30 mins from Takaka, must have own vehicle. Starting in early December, this is a fixed 3 month contract. Live-in position - caravan accom at a private site with awesome views in return for one hour work a day for one person. Duties include house cleans/changeovers and dealing with guests. Our summer calendar is basically booked out, you can plan your activities and days off in advance, approx 30 hrs work per week for one person, $24 an hour. Dec 1st - Feb 28th provides opportunity for approx $7800+ earnings. Will need to be quite fit and physically able, you will have to like the outdoor life as we live very close to nature, the closest shops are 20 min drive away. No pets sorry. This is seeing NZ at it's best - you might not want to leave, a longer term position is available afterwards with a warm furnished house rental available! HELP WANTED! Exciting opportunity for a COUPLE at one of NZ's premium eco-accomodation businesses www.goldenbayhideaway.co.nz in beautiful Golden Bay, 30 mins from Takaka.

Due to unforeseen circumstances our managers of 6 years are moving on. Starting at the end of October, this could be a summer position for a MINIMUM OF 3 MONTHS, or longer term for the right people. This is a live-in position, furnished house supplied at minimal rent, includes power and firewood.

Duties include house cleans/changeovers and dealing with guests, this job is for a couple potentially with a home based-business or art they require time to pursue. Hours vary according to bookings, approx 80-100 hours a week (shared between two people) and is mostly in the middle of the day, $24 an hour. Flexibility in the hours so you will have free time to explore the area.
