The Retro Room - B n B The Retro Room is inspired by my love of the 50’s. The room is furnished with a Queen bed with quality linens. Parking is beside the suite out of street view.

In Pyes Pa, 5 min walk to Pyes Pa Shops, Close to Copper Crest, Althorp and Grace hospital The guest suite is situated in Pyes Pa and is the only downstairs room with its own private entry and ensuite. You may choose your pillow from the pillow library or bring your own if you wish. The

rate includes a continental breakfast that you may have in your room, at your private patio or within the garden. Alternatively you main join the family and our 4 legged son for family chaos upstairs. A jug and toaster are available in the suite, if like me you like to enjoy your first coffee of the day in silence. The room has a small bar fridge, microwave and 32inch smart tv so you can get your netflix fix. Enjoy a stroll thru the parklike subdivision to the local Pyes Pa shopping centre less than 5 mins walk away. Here you will find a collection of amazing eateries and takeaways, supermarket, artisan bakery, pharmacy, dentist and doctors surgery as well as the local flex fitness gym if you are a member. Entry to your room is via a flat path with one step into the room from the Patio. We are across the valley from Copper Crest Retirement Village and very close to Althorp Village, Grace Hospital and a 5 minute drive to the Tauriko shopping centre and business district. Tauranga CBD is 15 mins drive away or you may take a bus from Pyes Pa Rd. The Tauranga Airport is a 25 min drive and maybe 30 mins to the beautiful white sand beaches of Mt Maunganui. Rotorua is 45 mins down SH 36, with the Tect Park 20 mins south.

Kitchen Takeover x Saint Wine Bar 🍷

Spanish wines are built for celebration. Their rich, festive flavours cry out for a feast to accompany them.

Luckily, Saint Wine Bar sommelier Charles Leong is up for the challenge. This February, Tauranga’s most enticing wine bar is hosting Fiesta Sabrosa, an exclusive two-night tour of Rioja, Andalucia, Castilla y León and Catalonia without leaving the comfort of The Strand.

Charles has hand-picked a delicious representation of one of the world’s oldest, and largest, wine-growing countries, highlighting the silky touch of Rioja, Albariño’s vibrant freshness and the robust character of Tempranillo.

Each wine has been expertly matched with fare from our resident chef Dan Lockhart to produce a Mediterranean-style feast you’ll be desperate not to miss.
