๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅThe Day Pauro Caught History๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐ŸŽฌ Video in the comments ๐ŸŽฌ

๐Ÿ†Official CIGF record!๐Ÿ†

It was a day Pauro would never forget. He found himself in the midst of a fierce struggle, battling a massive marlin that had taken his lure. The fish dumped the spool twice, each time testing his resolve and skill. Not too long into the fight, the fish went still, its strength waning. As any seasoned fisherman knows, a dead fish can lead to a stalemate, and with the boat rocking violently in 1.5 to 2-meter swells and 18-knot winds, his rod snapped just moments later.

In that moment of desperation, Pauro called for backup. Luckily, Joachim was nearby and rushed over to help. He also reached out to Marama and Robbie, hoping they could lend a hand. With 30 long minutes passing, Pauro fought to keep the pressure on the fish, his heart racing with anticipation.

When Joachim arrived, they shifted tactics. They had to handline this marlin up from the depths, a daunting task ahead of them. Slowly but surely, they began winning the battle of inches, putting line back on the reel. Just then, Marama and Robbie arrived on a jetski, transforming their one-on-one struggle into a full-fledged team effort. It became a relay-style competition, two cranking and one handlining, pushing themselves to the limit for what felt like an eternity.

After a grueling 40 minutes, they finally raised the fish to the surface! The team secured their prize and made their way back to shore, where Princess Gordon was waiting. The marlin weighed an astonishing 506 kg, setting the official Rarotonga game fishing record!

Reflecting on this epic day, Pauro knew he couldnโ€™t have achieved this without the boys. Their support made all the difference, turning a near disaster into an unforgettable triumph. The fish was sold to a local business, ensuring that not a single bit went to waste, making the festive season brighter for the entire community.

Pauro also caught an 512kg blue marlin last year, unfortunately the fish was not recognized by the club as he didn't use their scales. Unbelievable effort! ๐Ÿ’ช

Weโ€™ve donated over 100 laptops, 30 desktops, and more than 100 iPhones to Community IT to support those in the community who need digital access the most.

These devices will be used by the Womenโ€™s Refuge for domestic violence survivors who need quick access to family and friends, at low-decile schools, for small businesses, and community giveaways.

Thanks to Community IT (website below ๐Ÿ‘‡) for this fantastic initiative. Weโ€™re thrilled to give our equipment a second life and to help bridge the digital divide in our community.

Tuna are remarkable fish found in oceans worldwide, known for their size, speed, and migratory behavior. There are several notable species, each with unique traits and habitats.

Bluefin Tuna:
Among the largest and most prized, bluefin tuna (Atlantic, Pacific, and Southern) can exceed 1,000 pounds. Found in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Southern Oceans, their rich, fatty flesh is highly sought after for sushi and sashimi, but overfishing has led to significant conservation efforts.

Yellowfin Tuna:
Recognizable by their bright yellow fins, yellowfin tuna are found in tropical and subtropical waters. Weighing between 100 to 400 pounds, they are popular in both fresh and canned forms and are known for their leaner meat.

Albacore Tuna:
Smaller and lighter-fleshed, albacore tuna are found in temperate and tropical oceans. Often marketed as "white tuna," they are prized in the canned tuna industry and are enjoyed for their delicate flavor.

Bigeye Tuna:
Similar to yellowfin but with larger eyes and deeper bodies, bigeye tuna prefer deeper waters. Weighing between 100 to 400 pounds, they are valued for their high-fat content, making them a popular choice for sushi and sashimi.

Skipjack Tuna:
The smallest commercially significant tuna, skipjack tuna are usually between 5 to 20 pounds. Found in tropical and subtropical oceans, they are the most commonly canned tuna and are known for their strong, fishy flavor.

Australia's ocean territory is vast, covering nearly twice the size of its landmass. However, most of our available ocean temperature data comes from surface waters and coastal areas near major cities, leaving significant gaps in our understanding of deeper ocean layers.
