Did you know... 👀

-Milford Sound is not actually a sound. It’s actually a fiord. It was named so in recognition of its geographic features.

-Milford Sound is one of the wettest places on Earth. The annual rainfall is pegged at 6,813mm falling about 182 days of the year.

-Milford is around 2-million years ago, yet more tectonic activity forced a little of the earth's crust upwards, giving birth to a layer of limestone and sandstone that would eventually form the rugged dips and craters of Milford Sound.

🏔️ Te Anau is the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Fiordland National Park.
💧 Lake Te Anau is the largest lake in the South Island, covering an area of 344km2.
