The emerald waters deep in the backcountry of Fiordland are truly breathtaking. Not always a lot of numbers but if you’re prepared to take the time and effort fish can be found. I guess that’s a nice trade off with Mother Nature.

Great day with the lads today. Returning clients Gerard and Rick both cracking PB’s on a fantastic day. I threw them into the deepend on day 1. Fair to say we came up with the goods. Lots of lessons learnt. That’s what it s all about.

Diversity - The Southland of New Zealand has it all if you’re prepared to think outside the box and go with the flow. Maybe not big numbers at times but quality fish for those prepared to fish hard.

Nice couple of fish for Ant today off the edges in marginal conditions. This being the standout and well deserved after numerous fly changes and perseverance. The bitter cold kept us on our toes.

A sensational Autumn day in Southland. Still some great fish out there willing to intercept a well delivered fly. With a bit of free time now it was great to head out with mate and enjoy it.
