Our older girl lambed yesterday afternoon. We were beginning to think that she was just kidding us and that she had been over eating through the winter. She hung on to it long after it was due and it arrived ready to go to school. The lamb is bigger than the little ones born two weeks ago. Pam has fallen head over heels in love with it.

Pams hellebore's (winter roses) are in full bloom at the moment, but due to their growing habit it is very hard to get a decent photo of them. The ones in the bowl on the bench are just a few of the different flower forms she has growing.

It got really cold and wet down down here yesterday so we had to put jackets on the lambs. They are now the best dressed babies in the neighbourhood.

The other day we woke to a new set of twins. Bluey dropped a really cute pigeon pair, the first of the lambs for the season.

We had a visit from this wee fellow yesterday. He carried out a bit of high spider and insect clearance, stopped for a quick photo op then out the door again.

Our Mollie had her last trip to the vet today and is now at rest in the orchard. Old age finally got the better of her.

Pam and I went South to Butlers Berry Farm. We picked our own raspberries for half an hour coming up with 1.5kg each. We added 3 kgs of frozen berries which produced 32 jars of jam. Hopefully this will last the B&B until this time next year.

It's winter feeding time for there little guys. In order to help them through the colder months we make up balls of lard and bird seed and hang them in the tree in the front yard, so the are just outside the dining room window,

We have a new family member as yet not named. He is a good looking fellow and we hope that he takes care of our five ewe's. With luck we will get some lambs from them this year

With a little sharpening of my prep. method I have managed to cut down the cook time to three hours. The result is the same. This first batch has yielded 4.5 Kilo's of rich red paste

Our quince trees have produced a bumper crop again this year. We must have given away 80 odd kilos. The first batch of quince paste is now on the go. I am picking that the cook time will be about 6 or 7 hours, so I will post a photo of the result when it is finished

The last of our Monarch brood is about to leave home. We have hatched 30 odd this year.

It must be that time of the year because it's all about the flowers. The small thorn less yellow rose has gone ballistic and climbed all over the 25 foot tall cabbage tree.

The Paulownia tree in the front yard is in flower at the moment.It makes quite a statement. We can only hope that the NW wind stays quiet for the next couple of weeks and leaves the the flowers alone.

Pam has two new house guests. Spring lambs Parsley and Rosemary, Mollie thinks they are pretty cute as well
