First up we would like to send out a huge thank you to wakaama for introducing a brand new category this year at Long Distance Nationals - the first ever W4 division.

The hugest thanks also goes out to the clubs that entered the W4 division to help make it possible.

Congratulations to all the organisers and competitors and huge thanks for another awesome Takapuna Beach Cup Waka Ama Race!!
A special thank you shout out to the crews from Takitimu Outrigger Canoe Club and Team Pineula that paddled our W4 Maroro in the first officially recognised category for that craft.
To celebrate the win of our Open Men's Team in that category, and the overall success of the race, we are going to do a special on the Maroro.
