Stunningly scenic, we are honoured to have the Wilderness Trail go past our gate, on the Greymouth to Kumara section, a ride of 28 kms.
Many people who have stayed with us have biked or walked parts of this trail with the Chasm swing bright an easy 1 km from our gate.
The West Coast Wilderness Trail is an approx 132 km grade 2 easy cycle and walking trail that takes the rider through some of the most stunning and diverse scenery the West Coast of the South Island has to offer.
The trail runs from Greymouth to Ross, passing through the Southern Alps, rainforests, glacial rivers, lakes, and wetlands.

The spring equinox was last week, the time of balance and symmetry in the Earth's orbit around the sun, symbolizing the cyclical nature of time and the changing of seasons.

With the sun now on our “side “ we look forward to summer, and the warmer days.

We are also looking forward to catching up with fellow naturists, and sharing the beautiful sound of nature, here at KCs Retreat.

One of the many great things to do when visiting our beautilful West Coast, is the Stockton mine tour.
We did this tour on Wednesday, and wow !
The views from up there, the bus driver's knowledge on the area from the time we left Westport, the history we learned was great !
The tour goes through several small towns, then climbs to the Plateau, delivering an off-road adventure along the way.
This is the largest coal-producing mine in New Zealand.
We learnt about the life of a miner and some of the mining processes such as removal of topsoil, blasting, removal of overburden and, very importantly, how site rehabilitation after mining is completed.
We had lunch in one of the smoko rooms on the mine.
The stunning views of the Tasman Sea to the west and the Southern Alps to the east are breathtaking.

We have stayed here several times, have many happy memories from here, and made lots of new friends.
The cabin is so great to stay in,for those travelling without a caravan or motorhome. It would be a shame to loose this wonderful place.

Hi All,
Just an update on the progress of our sale. We have had very little genuine interest from the naturist community, it's a little disappointing from our point of view as we are hoping to keep it in the Naturist Community.
If you haven't yet spread the word, please share the fact that we are genuine vendors of a Council approved Naturist Caravan Park. It would be great if a Get Naked Australia, The Queensland Naturist Association inc., follower or Australian Naturist Federation member would consider this as the property has huge potential for growth. Let Facebook do what it was invented for, Let Social Networking do it's job and share it out!

On the other hand, we have had quite a bit of interest from outside the community and as such, we are moving up our EOI closing date to 30th March unless genuine Naturist enquiries develop.

Are you a club member, and are at a loose end for Christmas !
You are welcome to join us for a naturists Christmas day, great company, lots of fun and laughter and best of all, no clothing !
There will be a relaxed, shared pot luck type Christmas meal.
Christmas day is on a Monday this year, so a lot of you will have a couple of days to travel, pre Christmas.
We are on the wonderful West Coast, half way between Hokitika and Greymouth, and close to so many attractions, lakes, walks, bike trails etc.
