Our new neighbour at WineWorks Marlborough is coming along quite nicely! Construction of QuayConnect’s Marlborough Inland Port is well underway and set to be operational in December!
The Inland Port will give the region’s supply chain more resources, capacity, convenience; as well as providing local businesses resilient and sustainable options for distributing their product.
Thank you to Jim Tannock Photography for the awesome video of the construction progress from late July!
Stay tuned for more!

Over the last couple of months, a project at WineWorks Auckland got the green light from council to commence! We’ve been calling it the ‘Hole in the Wall’ project, because that’s literally what it is!
We have two electric tugs at the Auckland site, and this hole in the wall is to create a direct pathway between our Production Hall, and the warehouse right next door.
With this new route, our tugs no longer need to travel through the carpark, reducing traffic and boosting time efficiencies. Plus, we no longer rely on gas forklifts or diesel trucks to move goods between the buildings.
Here’s a clip of one of the tugs moving bottles directly into the Production Hall!

🫧🍾🥂 WineWorks Hawke’s Bay has some big and bubbly additions; three 25,000 litre Charmat tanks! These pressurised tanks are specially designed and engineered to handle wine under-going a secondary fermentation creating the bubbles in tank, rather than in bottle as per Méthode Traditionelle sparkling wines. We’re fizzing with excitement to put these extra tanks to use! 🤩🍇

Welcome to 2024! We are all well rested and now in full steam filling bottles, emptying the tanks, and getting ready for V24. We’re looking forward to the year ahead with lots to come! 🥂#WeBringTheWorks #nzwine #newzealandwine #hawkesbaywine #marlboroughwine
WineWorks Auckland has been busy shuffling a few things around this year! It’s all for boosting our capacity to fill, package, hold, and dispatch excellent New Zealand wine.
Here’s a video of the installation of a wastewater tank on the outer wall of our bottling hall. We had our contained wastewater tanks pretty much on the other side of the wall this new one is in front of.
Why did we get a bigger tank and move it outside? Because we are going to be installing a new bottling line in the first half of 2024! We are very excited, and the successful install is one step closer to our shiny new toys!

🌱🌏♻️ WineWorks Marlborough introduced an electric tug to their transport fleet last year. The tug replaced diesel trucks which transported goods between the Liverpool Street warehouse and the one on Kendrick Road.
Between July 2022 and June 2023, the tug completed about 5,550 trips between the warehouses, moving roughly 50,000 pallets worth of goods. This has saved close to 2,800 truck journeys and cut about 4 tonnes of CO2 emissions!
Our Auckland facility is about to debut their own electric tug too! More on that shortly…

50 Years of Marlborough Wine
Marlborough is celebrating 50 years of winegrowing in the region. Over time, winemakers saw the potential of the land to plant roots in, and now Marlborough is recognized as a world-class region for great wine. WineWorks also planted roots here in the late 1990s and accommodates many wineries across the region. Delicious Marlborough wines either go through our bottling machines, labelers, warehouses, and end up in your glass!

It’s International Rosé Day! We may be in winter, but WineWorks Auckland was pretty in pink as Line 1 bottled a little bit of summer. Rosé was New Zealand’s 4th largest wine export in 2022 and is incredibly versatile to produce in our wine regions, making it a particularly special varietal. What’s your favourite kind of Rosé? 🍇🍷🌹 #roséday #internationalroséday #nzwine #nzroséwine
In Marlborough, the install of our brand new filler on Line 4 has been completed. Everyone is excited about this, as it brings new technology and most importantly will increase Line 4’s capacity by 20% to 12,000 bottles per hour.
Production has kicked off this week, a run of Allan Scott Wines 2023 Sauvignon Blanc being the first to go through the new filler. Bring on Vintage 23! ⚙️🔧🍇
