🚨 Important Update for Mangapurua Landing Users 🚨
From 11th - 12th January, there will be no jetboat operators picking up from Mangapurua Landing. This is to allow local iwi to connect with the Whanganui River as part of the annual Tira Hoe Waka 🛶.. We thank you for your understanding as we honour this important cultural event.

Alternative Route:
To continue your journey, we recommend taking the Kaiwhakauka track 🚴‍♂️, leading through Ruatiti and onto the Waipuna Cycleway Heartland Ride

"Ka Ora Ngā Rangatahi Māra Kai" is far more than a gardening initiative—it's an immersive journey for rangatahi (youth), teaching them self-reliance and the strength found in collective effort.

Through the timeless practice of māra kai (gardening), these young people are reconnecting with their cultural roots, embracing the principles of kaitiakitanga (guardianship) and rangatiratanga (leadership). The spirit of this kaupapa thrives in every planted seed and stretched wire, growing alongside the crops they nurture and standing as a powerful symbol of unity and purpose.

Kudos to the incredible husband-and-wife duo, Robert and Darnella Hawira, for generously opening their property—and their hearts—to bring this inspiring vision to life.
