While we can't always get the weather to be perfect, we do our best to get our cruise top notch.

Tripadvisor review: Best Abel Tasman Day trip
"This whole operation is so focused on customer satisfaction! We had terrible weather on the day that we'r were originally scheduled for, and Karina jumped through hoops to get us out the next day, which was critical due to our itinerary.
Rod and the 1st mate, Flyn, did an incredible job of providing a fun, interesting, tasty and exciting cruise/paddle/hike/lunch, and they bent over backwards to keep the sail comfortable. They provided regular mini- briefs regarding history, points of interest, zoology, etc. The Taranui boat is super nice and comfortable,
and lunch was superb - great local ingredients, nicely presented, etc. It should also be noted that Abel Tasman is a spectacular park!"
Thanks to our crew Kim for the fabulous photo!

Although they say 'you should always paddle your own canoe' 🚣‍♀️🛶that rule doesn't apply when kayaking with Abel Tasman Charters.
No matter the age or skill level we love providing the opportunity to travelers who want to experience our beautiful coastline from the waterline, and so complimentary kayaks are available on all our trips.
We navigate deep into the heart of the park, offering the flexibility to select the perfect beach or estuary based on the day's conditions and preferences.
As you can see, we always have a bigger boat 🚤nearby keeping it safe.🛟⚓️🏖

Another beautiful Abel Tasman beach ⛱ We are lucky to have so many to choose from.
With 5 metre tidal changes it means we get a lot of beaches when we get them.

We are loving being back in the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park again and sharing this place with visitors. This is the view from the lookout at Te Pukatea Bay from the Pitt headland walk. As a charter boat operator we have the fortunate opportunity to bring you to this special place.
Hope to see you here soon 😍

Looking forward to sharing the Park with our lovely travelers again. A private boat charter is a great way to get the most out of your day, as it gives us an opportunity to find your 'perfect way ' to spend the day.

It is that time of year again when we are spending time at the marina in Motueka, getting boats ready for our lovely travellers. We often see this beautiful solitary bird known New Zealand as kõtuku or the White Heron.
While rare in New Zealand, with only one breeding colony in Okarito on the Westcoast, the Waimea and Motueka inlets are great feeding grounds. As a boat owner it isn't such a welcome sight to find one using your boat as a perch, as they are messy house guests 😆
Still, such a privilege to share this beautiful environment, and that is what deck hoses are for.

While it has been a bit quieter out on the water, we have been busy with our annual planting project in the Abel Tasman National Park that we lead in conjunction with The Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust
We are so lucky to have this fantastic park to work and play in, and so we like to do our bit to help ensure its future with the help of some fantastic local volunteers.

Have you ever cruised past Adele island/ Motuareronui in the Abel Tasman National Park? You wouldn't be the first to mistake this for somewhere in the tropics, but we are so lucky to have this tidal sandspit on our doorstep. In fact we pass by here twice a day in the summer months.
The island itself is a bird sanctuary, which means we don't walk on the island but frequently stop off the shoreline to listen to the melodic birdsong. As a predator free island it is a great example of how New Zealand forests sounded before the introduction of hungry mammals that make short work of our ground-dwelling bird species, if not directly by preying on their chicks and eggs , then by competing for the same food.
We spend time in the winter months working with the The Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust to assist them with their efforts to help restore our birds in the Park so we can continue to share the beautiful birdsong with you.

We think we have the BEST office and are so pleased to have had a great season sharing it daily with our new crew Emma ( Yes, we know we already have an Emma but why change a good thing)
She is a fantastic addition to our team at Abel Tasman Charters and it is so good that she seems to enjoy the place as much as we do.
Our lovely travelers have been sharing with us what a great job she is doing and how their day with the two Emma's was a real treat.

Nelson has a fantastic climate, which allows us to grow apples. grapes and hops among a huge array of produce.
Our clever locals a have become expert at creating some delicious beverages and this Stoke IPA is one that we offer aboard our small group day cruise so that you can have a taste of Nelson while you take in the beautiful scenery of the Abel Tasman National Park.
McCashin's Brewery where Stoke beer comes from is a part of our history in Nelson, and now there are a raft of boutique breweries throughout the region to visit.
If you enjoy great food and a local drop, Nelson, New Zealand is well worth the journey. We even have Tasman's Great Taste Trail for biking enthusiast.
We have some fantastic scenery too 🌞

Just outside the Abel Tasman National Park is this fantastic rock called Split Apple or Tokangawhā. We pass by this iconic rock daily on our small group bespoke tours of the beautiful Abel Tasman coastline.
Did you know that when the new moon rises at the time of the Matariki - Māori New Year you can catch it rising between the two halves of the rock?
See you there next Matariki

Some stunning weather happening in the Abel Tasman again, and so it was time for a visit to the beautiful Tonga Arches.
One of the many rock formations along the Abel Tasman Coastline formed by the push and pull of the tide as it inundates Tasman Bay from the wild Cook Strait.
Such a great natural cathedral. We love sharing this place and our guests today loved walking through the arch to the special beach and rock pools on the other side

Nice to see our Dolfriends in the park yesterday. Not only is the weather stunning but the wildlife is friendly too.
Excuse us for not posting in a while, but we've been busy in the Abel Tasman entertaining guests.
Our lovely family yesterday got the added bonus of enjoying a day out with skipper Emma AND dolphin visitors on the way home.🐬
Sounds like they might be keen for a repeat next year - family catchup in the Abel Tasman - sounds like a plan!👍

It is always a thrill seeing kororā or Little Blue/Fairy penguins around the Abel Tasman coastline. The worlds smallest penguin, we often see their tracks along the beach at Stephens Bay in the mornings before we depart for the day.
While they come in for the evening to roost in underground burrows, under vegetation and between rocks or in caves, they spend their days out fishing.
As you can see their flippers are excellent for 'flying' through the water and helps them to reach speeds of up to 6km an hour.
We love being able to take the time to stop and see the highlights on any given day on our small group tours.
