One of the most powerful and important elements of a silent retreat turns out to be the natural setting we are in.

Mother Nature is often there to bear witness and hold space for the unfolding and peeling of layers, for one's journey back home.
Which is why every venue I choose to invite people into silence at, is a place of natural beauty, close to a forest, views or in the case of the most recent retreat in New Zealand - this mighty South island river.

Nature inspires, cleanses and reminds us that all unfolds in perfect timing and it's only the mind that rushes forward or lingers on.
In Nature all is present and all is in divine order.
And we are a part of that.

Things were obviously a lot quieter over the lockdown period but one things that always remains is the beautiful bird life that graces our private sanctuary.....

I Just missed this beauty catching a fish under our little waterfall !
So stunning at all times of year here.

We don’t blame you girl!!! even though those cosy fireside sessions are also a lovely treat in the warm ecoblock lodge ~ Roll on summer already please !!! P.S a little well known secret is that CREAM loves carrots, so feel free to drop in and say hi to her with a treat on your way down the drive when you visit 🥕🐐❣️
