Locals day tomorrow - Saturday 26th November 2022.

We have been inundated with interest however we will have availability on our aqua bikes, kayaks and SUP. Feel free to pop down to the waterfront between 10am and 5pm and let's get you out on the water.

The weather is not looking the best but the rain should hold out with a little wind so be prepared to get wet on the water.

We are expanding the team here at Lakeland Wanaka and are on the hunt for a Trainee Jet Boat Driver and potential Jet Ski Guide - an adventurous yet safety focused soul who loves to share stories and wow our guests. Want to “work” in a popular kiwi holiday destination, sharing the beauty of Lake Wanaka and have fun while doing it?!

This is a seasonal (October to March) full time position based in Wanaka.

A little about the role:
• Gain a Commercial Jet Boat Drivers Licence through our specialised training programmes OR undergo our river familiarisation training programs if you already has your Commercial Jet Boat Drivers Licence
• Deliver an amazing experience to our guests taking responsibility and care to ensure safety
• Comply with all relevant legislation, standards & code of practises
• Undergo safety inspection and checks of equipment daily before its use
• Assist with renting beach equipment and guest relations

A little bit about you - we're after someone who:
• Cares about delivering amazing experiences to our guests.
• Safety focused able to keep cool under pressure.
• Has a passion for the outdoors/water and wants to share this.
• Is motivated able to work independently and within a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both with the team and to guests.
• Confidence to interact with people of all ages and nationalities.
• Is able to work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays

A little about we offer:
• Full, in-depth training with the ability to help you gain NZ qualifications in the Marine Industry if required.
• An awesome team environment and place to work
• Diverse role where no day is the same

• The opportunity to progress into different roles ie Jet Ski Guiding and help into gaining further qualifications

Lakeland Wanaka is a fun, unique and safe place to work and we'd like to keep it that way. Before starting with us, you'll go through a range of checks, including drug and alcohol testing. Health and safety is super important and this is part of how we keep you, our team, our guest and community safe. Anything could happen in a day - and we need someone who isn't afraid of a long and varied to-do list!

Due to the nature of this role and training involved, a minimum 2 season commitment would be required from the successful candidate. You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand to apply for this role.
