Centrally located on the main tourist route, we are south of Fox & Franz Josef Glaciers and north of Queenstown. Milford & Doubtful Sound are within a days journey from Wanaka. Mt Cook, another popular destination is a 2.5hr drive from here.

Have you done the Skyline track?🏔️🥾

This challenging 23 km hike starts with the famous Roys Peak track 🤩 from the peak you follow the ridgeline towards Mt Alpha & into Spotts Creek, continuing all the way to the Cardrona Valley Road & car park.

Our Hanne chose the most beautiful day to enjoy the sunrise from up there 🧡

❗️Make sure you check the weather forecast & conditions before you go, this track is only recommended with good weather☀️

🌹 ANZAC Day Services held in Wānaka:

7.00am: Dawn service on the edge of Lake Wānaka adjacent to the town centre

7.30am: Community breakfast for ANZAC participants - Armstrong Room, Lake Wānaka Centre

9.30am: A civic service will be held at the Lake Wānaka Centre followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph

NZ long fin eels at the Wānaka wharf

Afternoon tea for the eels these school holidays 😋 The Wānaka wharf is famous for its big long fin eels that live beneath it. The kids will love feeding them almost as much as us!
