Tim Steward NZ I am an internationally qualified mountain guide and ski guide based in Wanaka, New Zealand.

My focus is customised mountain guiding and instruction throughout the Southern Alps. Activities include mountain ascents, rock and ice climbing, alpine trekking, ski touring adventures, instruction and avalanche education.

Running the Rock Guide Training course for . This is the last training course for prospective NZMGA Climb and IFMGA Mountain Guides before their first assessment course.

By the time IFMGA Guides are fully qualified in NZ, they would have attended 14+ formal training days and 56 formal assessment days as well as many additional days of first aid and avalanche risk management training and assessment, personal days of skiing and climbing, and work experience to ensure they have the technical and decision making skills, knowledge and experience for taking guests into the mountains.

Treble Cone Backcountry and Introduction to Backcountry Ski and Splitboard Courses are running weekly during August (subject to weather and minimum numbers).

Today was a day for the record books! 15 medics
From the New Zealand Army Southern Health Support Squadron, 2 Wildwire guides, 4 NZMGA Mountain guides and an outdoor adventure student climbed the Lord of the Rungs, finished off with 4 Heli loads with Aspiring Helicopters back to the base.

Phew what an amazing day! 😎
