A GIVE A LITTLE Opportunity, READ ON!

What challenging times thus far, with the advent of Covid-19. Who would have thought about what was to follow!

We, the Directors of LLA , feel indebted to our wonderful guides in South America who have given us and our clients wonderful service over the past 30 years . With the difficult Covid times in their countries and lack of any government support there, we would like to try and assist them to be able to put food on the table for their families. Our guides are located in: Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. We also plan to help the families of our porters on the hikes like Inca Trail who are in a desperate situation.

As a company we plan to match in support every $ raised. Help us to help them!

9 Kiwis on the Latin Link Adventure Patagonia Walkabout Tour March 2020, handling the stress of Covid19 very well. After some fantastic sightseeing and walks, the group made the dash to Santiago Airport and en-route slapped the Chilean Shuffle together. It was a little fun at a time when the reality of the effect of Covid19 was grim!

Mendoza, Argentina, what a great place to start the Bike the Andes 2019 tour. We drove to the Mirador 3400m looking out at Aconcagua in the distance. Our first ride, was a fast 29km down the 365 ‘Cuevas’ or curves to Villa Vincencio, an old spa hotel, unfortunately no longer in use. The impressive landscape was distracting. We stopped for photos and glimpsed guanacos, foxes and condors. Our reward at the end of the ride, was a delicious lunch with a taste of the re-knowned Malbec from the region and a newly released Rosé.

Moi made it to the Glacier Lake at the base of the Towers, for me a seriously challenging uphill climb through the glacial moraine, huge boulders, narrow trails and steep in parts! Coming downhill was even more character building! BUT I made it. Not bad for a upcoming pensioner! Muy bien!

Reminiscing about my Patagonian bike tour November 2017 - if I am looking shattered it's because I am! It's the 17th day and I am 3kg lighter. Muy bueno!
I am at the border between Chile and Argentina about to ride downhill to Lago del Desierto to catch a ferry, heading for el Chalten. From the boat the magnificent Mt Fitzroy dominates the vista for the whole trip.

Bike Patagonia - We've been out there travelling! Now time to share some special moments. TAKE A LOOK - End of the Carretera Austral and start of the Southern Patagonia Ice Field, Villa O'Higgins & Candelario Mansilla heading towards the remote Argentinian Border on to el Chalten.
