Adventure Consultants is owned and directed by Guy Cotter, an IFMGA Mountain and Ski Guide from New Zealand with over 30 years of guiding and expedition experience. He has guided expeditions to the summit of Everest 5 times as well as six other 8,000m peaks.
Guy was a guide on Adventure Consultantsโ first commercial expedition to Mt Everest in 1992, led by the pioneering founders of the company, Rob Hall and Gary Ball. Guy continued working with his mentors until both passed away, Gary on Dhaulagiri in 1993 and Rob on Everest in 1996, a season that would be later immortalised in the 2015 Hollywood movie โEverestโ.
Guy has carried on the legacy created by Rob and Gary and now 24Climbing towards the Yellow Band years later, the company leads the way in high altitude guided mountaineering in the Himalaya and on the highest peaks all around the world.
Today AC offers over 80 trips a year, from expeditions to the highest mountains in the world to treks across the globe, polar journeys, guided ascents, ice climbing, backcountry skiing and climbing schools in New Zealand's Southern Alps and the European Alps. We also provide specialist expertise in mountain filming, photography, safety and location management tin mountain ranges worldwide. We remain based in New Zealand and in 2013 we moved to our new premises in Wanaka with a staff of 10, which continues to grow, with a staff of 15 in 2020.
