From 11.59pm tonight (01 May 2022) the border reopens to visa-waiver travellers and those who still hold a valid visitor visa.

Visa-waiver nationals will need to obtain a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) before travelling.

From 11:59pm Tuesday 12 April 2022, work and student visa holders can travel to New Zealand without a border exception.

Work visa holders must have access to evidence which demonstrates they still have a job offer or current employment when arriving in New Zealand.

Student visa holders must have access to evidence which demonstrates they still meet the funding requirements for students and that they are studying the same course at the same education provider that their student visa was granted for.
