Our friends at Wētā Workshop were at TRENZ last week in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington. After being seen at Wellington International Airport Tinkerfoot the Gnome, Bhelbrûk the dwarf, Tari the Elf and Ruc the Orc made their way to the Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre to meet up with their favourite animatronic Jeff, who was a great hit at the event.

We are excited to announce that TRENZ 2025 will take place from 6-8 May in the birthplace of international tourism, Rotorua!
And just like that, we've reached the final day of ! Day one was filled with buzz and activity with over 6,000 delegate appointments taking place. TRENZ Talks also took place throughout the day, with industry leaders sharing their insight and knowledge. In the evening, delegates enjoyed connecting with each other during the very first TRENZ Networking Hour at Tākina - Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre while the Media Function was held at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Global tourism showcase TRENZ gets underway!
One thousand delegates from New Zealand and overseas are attending TRENZ, which was opened last night at an event attended by hundreds of delegates, the Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Matt Doocey, and several ambassadors and dignitaries.
TRENZ 2024 has officially kicked off after a successful Welcome Function! One thousand international and domestic tourism delegates have gathered in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington tonight. The event was officially opened by Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and runs until Friday.

It's one week to TRENZ, New Zealand tourism's biggest business event. Over 1000 delegates are set to descend on Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington from 8 to 10 May at the Tākina Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre. It's a chance to showcase what makes New Zealand so unique and gives tourism Buyers and Sellers the opportunity to network and negotiate for the coming seasons. “TRENZ is a critical step in ensuring New Zealand is competitive and well represented on a global tourism stage. It’s where business gets done for many New Zealand tourism operators,” TIA's Chief Executive Rebecca Ingram says. WellingtonNZ Chief Executive John Allen says the host city is thrilled. “We look forward to showcasing our unique attractions and for participants to experience the special vibe Wellington is known for.”

Some key tips:
• Research - Make time to have a look on TRENZ Connect to see which organisations are attending TRENZ and who might be a good fit for your business to meet with at TRENZ
• Use the filters - It’s now easier for you to find and filter by certain information. This will help refine your search based on your preferences.
• Prioritise your appointments! - This is the most important thing to remember during the process and it will affect the appointments you get.

TRENZ 2024 is coming to the capital!
We're excited to announce is coming to Te Whanganui-a-Tara for the first time in 2024.
Aotearoa New Zealand’s biggest tourism trade show will be held at Tākina - Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre on 8-10 May 2024.
"TRENZ was back with a bang in May and it’s safe to say the event is rapidly evolving and innovating,” says TIA Chief Executive Rebecca Ingram. “As a passionate Wellingtonian, I’m especially excited to be bringing TRENZ to the capital city for the very first time!”
The format for 2024 has been remodelled to allow more time before and after the business meetings for exploration and discovery of the capital city.
Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau says it is fantastic that Wellington will be hosting TRENZ for the first time. “We can’t wait to welcome domestic and international manuhiri to Te Whanganui-a-Tara and for them to experience first-hand all that New Zealand’s capital city has to offer. Wellington is known for its vibrant culture and iconic events and we’re looking forward to sharing our city, Tākina and the manaakitanga of our people.”
John Allen, CEO at WellingtonNZ shares Mayor Whanau’s excitement. “We’re delighted to be partnering with TIA to deliver a TRENZ that will have enduring benefits for our tourism operators.”

Here's how to do it:
Step 1: Log into TRENZ Connect (before the end of Friday 24 March)
Step 2: On the home page, click the ‘Appointments’ banner to be taken to the list of organisations attending the event.
Step 3: To request an appointment with an organisation, click the ‘Add to my list’ button. You can then prioritise your list in the 'My Requests' tab. Your requests and prioritisations will automatically save.
Note: Connections are not the same as requests! Connection requests on TRENZ Connect are separate to the appointment requests for the physical event.
