Animal lovers, we have an adventure for you!

Our manager, Hayley took a trip of a lifetime, spotting wild animals in their natural habitat 🦁

🌍✨ Earlier this year, I had the incredible opportunity to spend three unforgettable days at Tswalu Kalahari Reserve in South Africa. It was a highlight of my trip, and honestly, a life-changing experience!

As a lifelong lover of big cats, seeing a litter of lion cubs in their natural habitat was a dream come true. I could have watched them all day! 🦁💕

If you’re a fan of the open roads, or seeing where the wind takes you, you might like to hear more about Ruth's unforgettable road trip through the Southern US!

🚗✨ From the vibrant streets of New Orleans to the soulful sounds of Nashville and Memphis, each city was a gem but it was the unexpected detours that truly made our journey special!

One spontaneous turn led us to Hot Springs National Park - what a hidden treasure! We had no idea what to expect, but it turned out to be a fantastic discovery worth revisiting.

Another day, we found ourselves driving from Atlanta to the stunning start of the Appalachian Trail, a beautiful adventure we hadn't planned but now can't stop dreaming about. The scenery felt like stepping into a scene from Moonshiners - pure magic!

While our planned stops were incredible, it’s those unexpected moments that transform a great trip into a truly memorable adventure. 🌄💖

Looking for your next adventure?

Niue is located just three hours from Auckland and offers a wide range of activities for all types of adventurers. From snorkelling and diving to whale watching or relaxing by the pool, you won’t be short of things to do.

As the island is small, and Wi-Fi is minimal you will have the perfect excuse to unwind and disconnect. If you don’t mind the humidity, we recommend going between October and June to beat the crowds and have the best spots for yourself, or if you’re keen on whale watching, you should aim to go between July and September.

Meet Hayley!

This week we introduce you to Hayley, our Manager at Adventure Travel. With 18 years of travel consultancy under her belt, she has a range of knowledge that she loves to share!

Hayley has been travelling since she was a teenager and says, “Knowing that I’ve made a career out of a passion is the best feeling in the world – other than travel itself of course!”.

From her travels, she is able to give customers firsthand knowledge and has so much fun helping others plan their dream holidays. Hayley has travelled around the USA, Canada, UK, France, Switzerland, Italy, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, Fiji, Rarotonga and most recently did a safari in South Africa which was a bucket list item. She’s done expedition cruising, ocean cruising, travel by train, self-drive trips and coach tours all of which she has loved.

Hayley’s favourite city would have to be the one that never sleeps… New York. It’s so vibrant and with plenty to see it can keep you busy, but she also loves the beautiful green spaces to chill out and soak it all in.

She loves working with the Adventure Travel team, and between all of them have travelled to the ends of the earth … well nearly anyway!

Meet the team!

This week we introduce our Processor, Jess! Having spent 11 years in the travel industry, she has experience in different roles across corporate and leisure travel in both New Zealand and the UK.
While living in the UK, Jess managed to pack most of her weekends full of European getaways and experiences. Her next favourite continent would be Asia, she has a trip planned to Hong Kong this August, and is looking forward to indulging in the local dining and shopping!
Jess currently resides in sunny Papamoa with her husband and their two kids, a one-year-old and a three-year-old, who keeps them busy. While her kids are little, Jess has taken on a non-consulting role, and loves being part of the Adventure Travel team and keeping an ear to the ground for all things travel.

This week we introduce you to Ruth, our in-store Travel Consultant. After 28 years of travelling, she joined the travel industry as a consultant in 2018.

Ruth’s first international trip was to Scandinavia, and it’s still her favourite destination. From the spectacular scenery in the Stockholm archipelago to the Norwegian fjords, she never tires of going back.

Ruth has travelled extensively, with her adventures taking her from Cape Town to Kenya, Sweden to Saigon, and the length and breadth of the United States, with many places in between. Her and her family’s most memorable trips have been their roadies across the USA and Southern Africa!

If you’re looking for your next adventure, keep Ruth in mind, she loves being able to share her experiences with her clients and offer something different to consider adding to their plans.
