The Whangamata Summer Festival is going to be HUGE this Friday and Saturday. Two days of awesome music, craft stalls, food trucks and roving entertainers.
Come down, pack a bag, bring the family, bring your togs and spend the day at Williamson Park enjoying the best FREE Family friendly, alcohol free event on the Coromandel!!
Spend the day in the Festival atmosphere, enjoy the colourful stalls and watch the epic performers across two stages.
This is a FREE Community event, and would not be possible without support from: The Whangamata Club, The Whangamata Community Board, Collins James Whangamata, Pub Charity & Trust Waikato.
Huge thanks also to our Festival supporters: all Festival attendees, our Market stallholders, our performers, Whangamata Area School, Bunnings, Tourism Coromandel and the Whangamata Surf Life Saving Club.

A few things happening in Whanga this week 🎅

🎄 The Christmas tree grotto and Christmas disco is on at the RSA. Check out the poster for more info.

🎄 The Whangamata community pool has it’s inflatable up on Saturday and don’t forget to bring some change for the sausage sizzle!

🎄 The weekend market is back at Island View reserve on Saturday 9am-1pm.

Don’t forget to pop in to the to drop off those letters to Santa in our elf letter box and also a spot of Christmas shopping!

The Whangamata Information Centre is seeking two volunteers to help with Customer Service over the summer period. The hours would range between 4-8 hours per week per person.

The ideal candidates would have great customer service, people skills, basic computer knowledge and be familiar with the Coromandel and Whangamata area.

Well I have completely lost my voice this week - some would call it a blessing - so if you come down to the market, in the TCDC carpark next to mini-golf, and see a grey-haired middle-aged woman doing a weird kind of semaphore or appearing to play charades, please be patient! This week we welcome Anita, the "honey lady", from Whiritoa. She'll be here every fortnight so, if you're in need of sweetening up, come and check out her delicious wares. If it's plants, books, clothing, fruit & veg, local crafts or 2nd hand treasures you're after then we've got all that as well! And remember to bring your e-waste, polystyrene, tetrapaks and egg boxes for Helen, here from 10 - 11. See you there!
