The Cabbage Palm is a slow robust solitary palm that will grow to 15 meters in height with its large glossy green fan-shaped leaves crown a strong trunk which has a unique pattern formed from old fronds which have been cut off. Growing on the edge of swamps and river banks that usually have poorly draining soil and still able to withstand brief flooding.
