Today's baby boy arrived asleep, woke briefly for a nappy change by Dad, and then straight back to sleep when I wrapped him up. And he stayed asleep for his entire newborn photoshoot. What a little angel 💕
And speaking of angels... big sister was outstanding! Happy to pose, happy to be directed, happy to snuggle her baby brother. These two are going to share an amazing bond...

Tonight's photoshoot was pretty wild and windy! We had already had to postpone this family's beach sunset photography session due to rain, and rescheduling is tricky with this busy family.
Looking relaxed and 'warm' is no easy feat when it's chilly, but this family did incredibly well, and their photos are stunning!
In the end you just need to laugh and go with mother nature.

What a stunning evening for a family photoshoot - beautiful soft light filtered by the clouds made some dreamy photos in the sand dunes, a little rain (we headed back to wait it out in the cars).... the rain slowed and finally stopped just as the sun was setting, and out came these heavenly colours.
Wow, just wow!

Tonight I had the pleasure of capturing this family and a couple of incredibly special milestones for them - 10 year wedding anniversary today and a 5 year old's birthday.
They coped well with my crazy ideas... climbing onto rocks (without leaving footprints in the sand), and stand/ crouch in the wet sand for stunning reflections.... and run fast just before the next rollers came crashing in!

Today's gorgeous baby girl is 6 weeks old but still a tiny newborn size. She is just petite. She arrived tired and well-fed, but do you think she would go to sleep? She was happy and inquisitive... but finally, finally we got her to close her eyes... and she kept opening them :-)
With lots of quiet rocking we finally got there.

This little baby is already adored, especially by his big sister. At 6 years old she was a great help for her Mumma's maternity photoshoot... she was happy being photographed, but even happier when I had her tossing fabric.

Unconditional LOVE!
Mr 2 was so quiet, gentle, co-operative and caring for his new baby sister. Doesn't he just melt your heart?!
His little sister was a wee gem too, until I tried to pose her fingers, then she briefly let me know exactly what she thought... before drifting back to sleep again. In the end she got her way with her fingers, she was just too cute to argue with :-)

Occasionally I am asked to provide pricing for unedited images. Simply put: I don't!
It is like asking a baker to provide a cake but "don't cook it". The expectation is a cake, the reality is a bowl full of ingredients.
The camera only does part of the work, it's like measuring all the ingredients into the bowl. Editing is doing the cooking - touchups/ icing/ decorations/ polishing.
If your budget is tight, consider looking at one of my smaller packages.

This afternoon we headed into the bush to get some updated family photos of this gorgeous family on a bridge.... only to find the bridge blocked off for maintenance! So we went exploring further along the tracks to find a few gems of places to stop and shoot.
Sometimes photographing children can seem a little chaotic when preschoolers are involved... but with a little patience, coaxing & keep moving... we get these treasured little moments captured in time.

Little Miss N came into the studio this morning for her newborn photography session. Her parents had requested colour, so I set up her shoot in raspberry and purples... then Mum asked me to also use peach.
We managed to get photos of her with her brothers, family and grandparents. After a quick feed she happily posed for the rest of her portraits... sometimes awake and sometimes asleep.

Happy Birthday!
Today was this little man's actual birthday, as well as his 1st birthday cake smash photoshoot. This was such a sweet session. Little Mr K was so excited when his cake came out, but once he put his hands on it he wasn't so sure just what to do next. He thought maybe pushing & pulling it like a car might work, until it fell over onto him... but he didn't mind! Finally Dad broke off a chunk and he decided eating it wasn't too bad either..... and finger painting over Dad's t-shirt was pretty fun too!

Last night we had a spectacular evening for a maternity photoshoot. After almost postponing due to rain showers, we decided to just forge ahead and see how the weather panned out - and this is what Mother Nature rewarded us with.....
Winter beach shoots are a little chilly, but well worth it!

Today's newborn model sure made me work hard to get him to sleep! It took us almost 1.5 hours to get his 1st shot done - he wasn't unhappy... just every time I thought he was finally sound asleep... he opened his eyes like "ha, fooled you!"
Finally I wrapped him up snug, and he was out like a light :-) Babies always rule in my newborn sessions, we just need to be patient & take it slow...

My first of 2 newborn models came in this morning. He took his own time looking around, but eventually with a little coaxing he drifted off to sleep. And after that he was a little dream and let me get all the shots that I was after.
Even after over 17 years of photographing newborns I am still learning new poses and angles.... and I still love capturing these gorgeous wee treasures!
