Our annual exhibition 'Our Paper, Our Prints, Our Stories' is on outside Reyburn House Art Studios at the Town Basin today from 11am (a later starting time due to the weather). Come and see for yourself these amazing artworks our artists have created. While you are there have a go at papermaking and fun with the skittles!

It’s a beautiful morning down at the Town Basin. Our exhibition ‘Our Paper, Our Prints, Our Stories’ is on outside the Reyburn House Art Studios. Come and check out the Papermakers’ fabulous artwork and try your hand at papermaking and have fun with our version of 10 pin bowling! All artwork along with fabulous printed cards are for sale! We will be there until 2pm 🙏

We had an absolutely fantastic day yesterday at Matarau School, introducing the little ones to the magic of papermaking! From tearing the paper to hand mulching, feeding the Hollander, and creating fish-shaped masterpieces, they were fully immersed in the process. Our incredible papermakers Becky, Nicole, Keegan, and Julia were super teachers! A special shoutout to Nicole, who returned as an ex-student and received a warm welcome. And, of course, huge thanks to our amazing tutor, Amie Knight, who made it all possible, including the word find puzzle, which was a huge hit!

Putting the call out for ice cream containers and cereal boxes. Why you may ask? Cereal boxes we use as mats for drying paper when we are papermaking out in the community and ice cream containers because they are so handy for storing any number of things :) Please pass it on and thank YOU!!

We have lots to different batches of paper to add to our web shop for sale. Each batch is unique with only a limited quantity of pieces. If you want a specific paper in a particular size don't hesitate to ask. We are more than happy to make to order.

We had such an enjoyable and fun morning expanding on our knowledge of flax thanks to the tutelage of Whaea Coral. Your generosity in sharing your expertise and time with us is greatly appreciated!

When a relieving tutor brings in hydrangea flowers of course we add it to recycled paper pulp. It smelt fabulous when making and the result is a delicate shade of green!

Happy New Year everyone :) We're back to work tomorrow and was wondering if anyone out there has any cornflowers we could have? We have a customer order for a wedding with cornflowers as inclusions and our usual source for cornflower is not available. Thank YOU!

Today is all about celebrating Christmas and the fantastic year we have had. The carols are playing and the chair is ready for Santa's visit. Everyone is dressed for today's celebrations and in great spirits!

The Papermill will be closed from 16.12.23 until 09.01.24. We wish all our wonderful supporters a joyful holiday and look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year! Merry Christmas everyone 🎄

A closer look at our Christmas tree. Apart from the tinsel and lights the decorations are all handmade. A lot of the decorations have been made by rolling beads from our handmade paper and then gluing them on a polystyrene ball. Much planning and months have work have gone in to making these :)

Does anyone have or know anyone who has papyrus reed that we could harvest for papermaking?

NZPCN members can select up to 20 plant species and automatically create a full colour, fully illustrated A4 book describing them (in PDF format).
