Do you know the original name of Jalali Fort?
The first pic is Jalali Fort where built by the Portuguese around 1587 to protect the harbor from Ottoman and Persian forces. The fort was captured twice by Persian forces during 1718-1747s.
The original name was Saint Johne's Fort
The 2nd picture shows prisoners in jalali Fort. The fort used to be jail before 1970s.
The 3rd picture is Mirani Fort where designed by an Italian architect. The fort Was completed in 1588 to protect Portuguese ships and harbor against attackers.

The first pic is a view of Muscat in 1900, note that the old city was protected by the wall and gates which are always closed a couple of hours after sunset.
The 2nd one is Muscat Gate in 1904
The 3td one is Muscat in 1938
