The Al Amin Mosque in Oman
Construction began in 2008, and the mosque opened in 2014.
It is open to tourists from 8 AM to 11 AM daily, except on Fridays. The mosque closes at 10 PM each day.
Children under 7 years old are not allowed to visit.
Visitors are required to wear modest clothing. Women must wear an abaya.
The carpet, handcrafted in Iran, took 18 months to complete. It was delivered to Oman in 44 pieces and assembled on-site.
The marble used in the mosque was sourced from six countries: Oman, Italy (Carrara), Portugal, China, India, and Turkey.
The mosaic was crafted by artisans from Italy who completed the installation in Oman.
The windows are fitted with safety glass imported from the United States.
The chandelier, made in Austria, features 24K gold. All gold used inside the mosque is 24K.
The mosque can accommodate approximately 2,000 people for prayer, both inside and outside.
The speakers were imported from London.
Some walls are adorned with seashell motifs.
Classes for children are held weekly:
Sundays for girls, Mondays for boys, and alternating days for the rest of the week.
The mosque also have a library, open to visitors except on Fridays, Saturdays, and official holidays.
