The mosque is the largest masjid in Dhofar governorate of Oman ,welcoming thousand of worshippers for prayer and visitors each day since 2009.
Inside the mosque the pray hall is beautifully decorated with crystal chandeliers and 29-ton handwoven green carpet with 115 million indywidual knots covers the floor.
The main chandelier hangs from an intricately carved 36 meter dome.

In the Samhan Mountains in Dhofar province you can find giant dracaena trees called also " dragon's blood trees".
Plants grow on rocky slopes on the dry plateau at the top of Dhofari mountains and are of great interest among tourists.
