Camaroncito EcoResort & Beach is an exclusive, ecologically conscious, rustic resort located on 16 acres of rainforest on the Central Caribbean coast of Panama, locally called “Costa Abajo”. Total travel time from Panama City is under four hours. Our 600-meter protected beach cove of soft sand is perfect for swimming and playing in the waves! Camaronicito is the creation and heart work of Ernesto and Sarah, who are avid travelers, beach bums, foodies, and salsa dancers. They have designed Camaroncito to embody all of the things they love best: a return to nature, including buildings hand fashioned with local wood, warm Caribbean water, soft light sand, lush rainforest filled with wildlife AND the creature comforts of solar powered fans, music and ice ... and plenty of HOT water in the open air showers. Our minimum stay for individual cabana rental is 5 nights, though whole resort rental and special weekend packages may be as short as 2 nights. This is to ensure guests feel a genuine escape from modern life, the gift of reconnection with nature, and an opportunity to be inspired by the ocean, the rainforest and the wildlife. ACCOMODATIONS
- We are exclusive and private, with only 4 wooden beachfront cabanas.
- Each has a luxurious queen bed, large screened windows, ceiling fan, bedside lights, private bathroom with hot water open air shower, stocked mini-fridge (per guest preference) and coffee/tea service, a large roofed deck with seating and hammock, and an unobstructed view of the ocean.
- Daily housekeeping services. Linens and towels are changed every three days. Guest laundry is complementary on linen change days.
- Each cabana is equipped with drinking water, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, anti-insect spray made from essential oils, knee-high rubber boots for hiking in the rainforest, headlamps, umbrellas, bamboo beach mats, turkish beach towels, and USB charging.
- Camaroncito is designed to be an adults only getaway for cabana rental, but we offer whole resort rental where children are welcome. FACILITIES

"One of the big benefits was the free high-speed internet. Usually in such a remote location you're essentially off the grid, but they have satellite internet which allowed me to work and stay connected.

"Where do we even begin! My partner and I spent two magical weeks at Camaroncito and cannot stop gushing about it. First let’s start off with the above and beyond hospitality of Sarah & Ernesto. From before you even book you fill out your personal preferences from food to activities to ensure that your stay is as personalized as possible and from that, every single thing we ate was AMAZING. Every meal was out of this world, different and exceeded expectations. Food was flowing, drinks were flowing, they were on top of everything alongside their local employee Chola. The cabins are great - we were never too hot, I loved that you are given a hose to wipe down before you get into your cabin, oh and the water is HOT!? Very rare to actually get hot water in your room in the Caribbean let alone in the middle of no where! We absolutely loved how off-the-beaten track this was, in a world where it feels everywhere has been touched or spoiled this truly felt like a paradise all to ourselves. My partner and I work remotely, so while we worked the whole time we still felt like we were on vacation, the most relaxed we’ve been in a while AND the internet works great so I’d highly recommend this place to digital nomads as well. Also shout out to Penny & Moochie the cutest and friendliest dogs ever with Penny joining us on our jungle walk and daily beach walks we miss her so much! My partner and I travel quite frequently and this is the first place we’ve been like we can’t wait to come back to. Thank you Sarah and Ernesto for creating such a unique slice of paradise we hope to see you both again soon!"

Imagine sleeping in an open air, palm frond "Rancho" under the mangrove trees on an isolated bay, in the middle of dozens of kilometers of (mostly) undeveloped, pristine coastline on the Caribbean Sea.

Imagine hours of hiking through verdant rain forest, drinking the rich water from freshly fallen coconuts, and observing flocks of parrots, toucans, sea eagles and a myriad of other tropical birds.

Imagine checking out from modern life, but not from comfort. Though there is no electricity or cellular service, there is abundant driftwood for cooking and roaring bonfires. There are several fresh water rivers on our property (filtered for drinking) as well as a larger river with a small waterfall and swimming hole 100 meters down the beach from us.

Imagine clean eating from a myriad of wild mango, plantain, lime and guava trees, locally caught fish and lobsters, and locally farmed free-range eggs, chickens, and beef to supplement some necessary imported goods like beer and rum.
