This beach is mainly deserted on the weekdays with unimpeded views as far as the eye can see. Authentic German, Italian and Panamanian restaurants are but a lovely stroll on the sand away. Boating, fishing, scuba diving / snorkeling, white water rafting, bird watching, coffee farms, zip lining, ATV riding, horseback riding, parasailing : all these activities and more are either a short walk or a s

hort car trip away. The Panamanian people are friendly and accommodating. English is generally spoken in the larger centers such as David or Panama City, but of course a Spanish phrase book can come in handy. Playa Las Lajas is located approx 5 hours from Panama City on the Pacific Coast in the Province of Chiriqui. The town of San Felix is the just an 8$ taxi ride away and is situated on the Pan Americana highway. If traveling by bus from Panama City - this is your stop. The beach is exceptional for swimming and novice/intermediate surfing. Rip currents are not a problem at Playa Las Lajas. Surf boards can be rented down at El Mundo Bar (the German bar and restaurant) for a small fee. You'll likely spend an hour or two there each day as the food is sublime and very well priced. They also have free Wi-Fi there so you can be sure you'll meet other travelers there too.

Estas son algunas fotos de nuestro Grupo Tortuga de Playa Las Lajas. Qué importante iniciativa dirigida por voluntarios no solo para ayudar a rescatar huevos de tortuga y aumentar la supervivencia de estas tortugas increíblemente importantes y maravillosas, sino también para aumentar la conciencia y educar a las generaciones futuras sobre los hábitats naturales y las iniciativas de protección de nuestra especie aquí en la playa.

These are some photos of our Turtle Group from Playa Las Lajas. What an important volunteer-led initiative not only to help rescue turtle eggs and increase the survival of these incredibly important and wonderful turtles, but also to raise awareness and educate future generations about the natural habitats and initiatives to protect our species here on the beach.
