Saftey isn't just about our guests safety but did you know we also think about our tree dwellers?

High power lines are killers for these innocent animals so when the local power company wouldn't take care of the issue, in 2023 we hired a crew to insulate the power lines that surround our property to protect them and we haven't had an electrocution since.

Remember Soldier? He narrowly escaped being killed by electrocution of the power lines. Many others are not so lucky.

This beautiful fruit is called a Pitch Apple, in the center the grooves once held several seeds.

This fruit grows from the Clusia Rosea tree commonly called the Autograph Tree because the leaves can be used for writing on which remains on the leaves even when dried. Kinda weird, kinda cool?

Don't attempt to eat this fruit though - it's poisonous.

Honestly, this SUCKS! Cleaning trash off the beach is the least fun thing I can imagine spending our time but...it has to happen.

We always knew supporting our local sea turtle conservation center would be our primary philanthropic effort but we realized that wasn't possible unless we were also a part of the solution so, we clean the beach 4 days a week, every week.

Our guests get involved too because it's just part of being a good human. We are all a part of the problem so we all step up to be part of the solution too.

This results in approximately 300 bags of trash that we yearly remove from our little beach. It makes for a safer passage for these tiny little turtles, and a better experience for our guests.

Not only was this flower the inspiration of Eywah of Avatar, here in Panama this beautiful flower provides food for the bees who are doing their best to pollinate her to produce these delicious fruits called Poma Rosa or Plum Rose (the round green fruit in the bowl).
They taste like jasmine are slightly juicy with a large seed in the center - delicious. They are fruiting now, but you gotta be fast if you want to taste them. They are a monkey, squirrel, toucan favorite!

Baby monkeys natural instinct is to stay high in the canopy where they find their food sources, safety from predators, and diseases.
With forest fragmentation of their habitat, monkeys often are forced to use high voltage power lines to travel or climb down to the ground. This is deadly for them for obvious reasons of electrocution but also predators, poachers & illegal trafficking for pet trade, but also exposure to bacteria and disease their bodies cannot defend from.
We are helping to make a difference through reforestation, hanging bridges across roads, and insulating our power lines.
When visiting our eco resort, our guests get to see these efforts and the monkeys that benefit from them first hand. It's nothing short of amazing.
