The Space

Villa Contesa del Mar is a beautiful beach front home located on one of the best beaches on the island of Contadora called Playa Cacique. It is on the none windy side of the island where all the luxury yachts prefer to dock. There are three bedrooms, one is a master bedroom with a king sized bed, en suite bathroom, satellite TV and access to the pool & patio, the second room has a doubl

e size bed, satellite TV and pool and patio view, the third room has two twin beds and a spacious closet and drawers. The house is completely furnished and there are air split conditioners in each room. There is a second bathroom in the main hallway. The living room and and dinning room are open and create a feeling of spaciousness. The main room has a flat screen TV with satellite and a DVD player, coffee tables, two comfortable couches, a dinning table that seats six and a wine fridge. The kitchen is fully supplied with everything you will need, we have ample storage space, and appliances that you will have access to: a stove, oven, fridge & freezer, toaster oven, blender and plenty of counter space. Adjacent to the kitchen we have a small laundry room with both washer and dryer as well as access to the pool. The grounds around our home are well maintained and taken care of by our gardener Marcial. In the car port area we have a ping pong table, please feel free to take the tarp off and use it. We also have a spinning bike and yoga mats, in case you would like to get some exercise. There is lots of space to exercise in the shade by the pool or inside the house. The pool is a great place to hangout if your not quite ready to go down to the beach. Their are stools both in the pool and on the opposite side of the pool - a fantastic venue for entertaining family or friends. As well for entertaining, we have a surround sound entertainment system, so you can listen to your favorite music outside the house with plenty of music channels to choose from through the satellite TV system or your smart phone. Villa Contesa del Mar has full private beach access, we have our own private locked gate that allows you to be at the beach within seconds. We have a beach hut that allows for shady relief, a table for eating, as well as electricity for your music. We also have a sea kayak that we encourage you to use for free. It is great to get out and explore the different beaches around the island. If it is of interest to you Panama’s only nude beach is a short fifteen minute walk from our home. On the other end of our beach is a great seafood restaurant and bar. It is a great place to grab a snack and beer if you don’t feel like cooking! To explore the island you have use of a golf cart for a small fee. Guest Access

Getting around Contadora is quite easy, it is a very small island. You will have access to our golf cart for a small fee but everything is in walking distance should you decided to walk to town. Everyone on the island is incredibly friendly, should you have any troubles or need anything there are many people that will be willing to help you. The island has about a handful of restaurants/bars, a few small grocery stores and shops. The island is very relaxed and slow paced. Getting around

If you are looking for a little adventure there are many different tours you can go on such as island tours, whale watching (between the months of July to October) certified diving trips, fishing, snorkeling and biking. Other Things to Note

Contadora Island is the fifth largest of the Pearl Islands and is located in the Pacific Ocean about 50 miles from Panama City. Contadora has a small airport. Flights from Panama City only take about 20 minutes and are easy to arrange either through AirPanama the local airline or by charter. The island can also be reached via a scenic, two-hour ferry ride that departs from two locations within the city. This island features fine hotels, restaurants, a dive shop and water activities such as diving, snorkeling and sports fishing. You may enjoy any of Contadora's 13 beautiful beaches which encircle the island, or take excursions to nearby islands - most of which are uninhabited, and find your own private beach for sunbathing and picnicking. Just across from Contadora is Pacheca Island, roosting spot for magnificent frigate birds and an excellent spot for bird watching. Healthy coral reefs are intact directly offshore from Playa Galeón and Playa Larga. One of the islands in view from Contadora is also the spot where the TV series Survivor films on a regular basis. Because of its close proximity to Panama City, Isla Contadora is a popular destination for Panama’s wealthiest families, and today has an abundance of spectacular mansions built along its sandy shores. There are some cars and trucks present, transportation is largely limited to golf-carts, four wheelers, scooters and bicycles, all of which can be rented for the day. The island is only 1.2-square kilometers (0.5-square-miles), so it's easy to get everywhere,

For a truly private beach experience it is also possible to take a boat or panga to one of the archipelago’s uninhabited islands. The water that surrounds Isla Contadora is ideal for a myriad of different water activities. Diving and snorkeling are among the most popular activities, and there is a small dive shop in town that can equip visitors with the necessary equipment. Contadora is the only island in the archipelago with a developed tourist infrastructure. A prestigious destination, it caters to its wealthy residents and moneyed tourists from the mainland. Beaches are spectacular, the snorkeling is world class, and the island is a great jumping-off point for independent exploration of the archipelago.
