MISSION: Kolibri Expeditions provides bird-watching and bird photography experiences for all types of birders and photographers, regardless of experience, skills and budget. Kolibri Expeditions is based in Lima, Peru and operating since 1998, has provided birding and wildlife eco-tours throughout Latin America for 20 years. Kolibri Expeditions also offers selected tours to birding hotspots around the world, most notably Asia and Africa.
Kolibri Expeditions takes pride in training local guides. Our guides have superb knowledge of South American birds, especially those that are hard to find and recognize most bird calls heard, particularly those in the tropics where this skill is essential. They will share with you their unique insights including birds, wildlife, nature, world famous cuisines and culture.
Kolibri Expeditions offer a variety of birding tours of different length including the very popular 5 day Getaways for the busy professional, and Lima Days short 1-2 day tours planned around your stopover in the Peruvian capital.
Also, moderate birding, extreme birding, bird photography and videography, butterflies and insects, hiking, trekking, nature and cultural expeditions. They also pioneered the Peruvian pelagic tours back in 2000 and has the longest track record of pelagic expeditions in Peru. Special rare species of the Humboldt Current such as Hornby’s and Markham’s Storm-Petrels, Peruvian Diving-Petrel and a variety of Albatross species can be seen on our trips.
