Photography during sunrise at the heart of Uyuni salt lake (in a remote corner of Bolivia) made my early wake up call worth the effort. The views are simply spectacular. This is a huge section of the high andean plateau which is covered by a colosal layer of salt, well worth to include in everyone’s travel list.

Bird lovers always get excited when spotting a Giant Hummingbird, the largest in the world, not easy to photograph in the wild ‘cause (like all hummers) it’s a fast moving bird … this one beats its wings 10-15 times per second. As dipping its beak into a flower to drink the nectar, sticky pollen clings to its forehead, feathers and bill, since many native plants on whose flowers hummingbirds feed heavily rely on them for pollination.

The amazing setting of the archeological site Moray, nestled in front of the Andes mountains of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The green fields will start turning into various shades of brown and yellow as the dry season takes over.

Hiking in the Andes mountains after the Cusco snow blizzards added a new color to our visual palette. There was no need for crampons but I was glad I brought my beanie and gloves. Here, a 3 minutes clip with the classic encounters of the route and the mesmerizing beauty of these mountains.

Adventuring in this unique corner of the Amazon Rainforest is remarkable. The tanning-rich reflective waters of these rivers and lakes make them look like huge mirrors. The amount of wildlife is overwhelming. Aside from the huge variety of other animals and plants, we counted up to 6 sloths on this trip. We walked the forest, got immersed far and deep in this fragile jungle, fished for piranha, met the locals … it’s endless. In a remote area like this, the comforts of luxury cruising bring the thrill of the Amazon experience to the next level.
