On our 1/2 day Maras, Moray and Salineras excursion, you will be able to see this incredible Inca site where agricultural experiments used to happen. The Inca were able to design this site so that each terrace has a different microclimate. They would grow crops on each terrace and seek to understand more about the microclimate where crops thrived.

To this day Peruvians highly value agriculture and good farming practices. There are nearly 4,000 varieties of potatoes grown in Peru as well as herbs, fresh vegetables, fruit, coffee, and much more!

It seems the Inca paved the way for future generations.

Today we explored the beautiful and complex textile making in Chinchaero. These artists have perfected the art of making dyes and dyeing their hand processed alpaca, llama and sheep’s wool. You don’t get more authentic than this!

It is a pleasure to watch and be taught by real textile makers in Peru.
